Hamas' attacks have for years oscillated between impotent anger and a

back to the center of international attention.

unlikely to lead to the disappearance of Hamas but it has legitimized

forget that Hamas was originally supported by the Israeli state to
weaken the more secular Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO)?
Founded by the Palestinian cleric Ahmed Yasin and born from Mujama

assistance for the Palestinian community in Gaza, it was considered a
decidedly preferable enemy to the PLO, which enjoyed unattainable
international credit for Hamas, linked to Hezbollah and a good part of
the Islamic fundamentalist galaxy, with hostile attitudes towards women,
LGBQT people and the Palestinian working class.
Thus Hamas obtained popular support in Gaza, with a consequent Islamic
radicalization of society, while the West Bank remained formally in the
hands of the impotent and corrupt Palestinian National Authority, heir
only in name to the secular tradition of Al Fatah, defusing any attempt
at political negotiation .
Now, after years of dripping, siege and embargo, of deafening political
loneliness of the Palestinians, Palestine is emerging from forgotten
conflicts and threatens to trigger an escalation of the state of global
belligerence.
And if, as always, it is the proletarians on both sides of the conflict
who suffer most from the escalation, the respective leaderships have
managed to divert attention from their own problems."
The brutal attacks that caused many hundreds of deaths in Israel
strengthened the image of Hamas in the Arab world, and on the other hand
created a feeling of national unity and temporarily strengthened the
position of the Netanyahu government, whose political consensus was
dropped to historic lows after nine months of unrest, including a
general strike, over unpopular judicial reforms.
Thousands of people have now been massacred both in Israel and in
Palestine, and the consequences of the conflict and the increasingly
concrete large-scale invasion of Gaza in the coming weeks are already
atrocious, with the consequent influx of refugees that no Arab
government, outside of increasingly empty declarations of solidarity, he
is willing to accept.
Together with the war between Russia and Ukraine, the conflict between
Armenia and Azerbaijan over Nagorno-Karabakh and the growing tensions
between China, Taiwan and the United States in the Pacific, the possible
widening of the conflict in Israel-Palestine, for example with Lebanon
Hezbollah constitutes yet another piece of global instability that
threatens us all.
The varied movement, which has taken to the streets of much of the
world, which also sees the presence and participation of the
anti-Zionist opposition of the Israeli government in calling for the
immediate suspension of the bombings and war crimes currently underway,
the end of the embargo of Gaza, respect for international resolutions
and a political solution for Palestine sees us as participants. With the
awareness that, if the priority now is the end of the war activities
conducted substantially against the civilian population on both sides,
the only real long-term political solution consists in strengthening the
internationalist social struggle that leads to the overcoming of the
nationalist logic , fundamentalist and statist.
We make our own what is supported by our Israeli comrades, who for
almost twenty years fought the Wall in the West Bank by building popular
committees with the inhabitants of Palestinian villages and supported
the Refusniks, against the military occupation. Because the solution to
the conflict can ultimately only be a common society, classless and
stateless, in which people of different religious (and non-religious)
and ethnic backgrounds can coexist peacefully.

And the way to achieve this can only be through class struggle, with
working men and women uniting on both sides to improve their situation
and thus overcome long-standing resentments.
It is up to us, anarchist communist militants, libertarian and class
activists, to give our contribution, today as yesterday, to those who
support the possibility of a free and equal society, of a just peace, of
coexistence beyond borders, religions, nationalities.
