defense and, above all, attack operations. As seen in the latest report
from the "Stockholm International Peace Research Institute" (2022)
"global military spending increased for the eighth consecutive year,
reaching an estimated $2,240 billion[...]an increase in spending of 3.7
% year-on-year[...]Governments around the world spent an average of 6.2%
of their budget on the military, or $282 per person."

According to this report, Italy has spent 33.5 billion euros on defense.

With these numbers it is expected that from this year (2023) and in the
years to come, spending will increase even more, thus fueling the
business of the war industry and triggering and exacerbating further
conflicts in those parts of the world ready to be colonized and
exploited excessively (particularly in those territories rich in
materials considered vital for the energy transition in the so-called
First World).

Beyond the economic aspect, militarism shapes individuals to have
heteropatriarchal relationships: masculinity and heterosexuality are
exalted and defended to the bitter end as a form of identity of the
power of the army itself.

As anarchists we reject militarism as a violent and necessary mechanism
for capitalist colonization and the defense of state order and power
relations.

Our antimilitarism is the destruction of all gunsmith production and the
refusal to obey blind military discipline. We profoundly repudiate
violence that can only be carried out with the weapons used by the State
and, therefore, all the foundations of dominant power.

The disappearance of this instrument of oppression will be the best
guarantee of freedom for everyone.
