WORLD WORLDWIDE MEXICO All Out News Journal Update - Your support reunited this mother with her children

Hey,

Imagine you walk into a hospital with your child and someone takes them away from you, without any justification.

That’s what happened to Julissa, a lesbian woman living in the Mexican state of Yucatán. Local authorities took away her two children, a young son and newborn baby. They decided that as an LGBT+ person, she wasn’t fit to be a parent.

Local activists from all over Mexico came together and launched an All Out petition to demand the government of Yucatán give Julissa her children back.

And you know what. The All Out community REALLY showed up! More than 10,000 people from all over the world signed the petition in support of Julissa and her family.

Thanks to this incredible mobilization, the government reunited Julissa with her children. It was a massive victory for the All Out movement.

But we’re seeing dangerous narratives sweeping through Mexico and beyond, demonizing LGBT+ families and stripping away the rights and dignities of LGBT+ parents.

With your help, we can continue to support parents like Julissa, when they need this movement most.

Make a donation today to support the fight for rainbow families.

The picture shows Julissa with her two children when they were reunited, which reads: Together we can protect LGBT+ families. Donate now.

As a new year approaches, we've begun to see new challenges for rainbow families.

Like in the European Union, where hundreds of children are being deemed "stateless" and without citizenship, just because they have two mothers or two fathers from different countries. This happens when neither country acknowledges the legitimacy of the union or the family.

We fought for Baby Sara – one of those stateless children – and together, we helped her mothers win recognition of their rainbow family. But there are many other children like Baby Sara who are still without a recognized home country.

Across the globe, we're seeing anti-LGBT+ groups getting stronger. They see our work and they want to stop it. But together, people like YOU, me, and the rest of the All Out movement can be bigger and stronger than this hate and intolerance! Just ask Julissa and Baby Sara's families.

All Out needs 2,906 more donations before the end of the year to keep up with the fights ahead.
