Traumatized dogs rescued from the dog meat trade in Zambia need medical care.

Please donate now

Dear friends,

In Zambia, a gut-churning scenario unfolds as the illegal dog meat trade continues to cast its sinister shadow over animal victims of despicable cruelty, exploitation and abuse.

Sometimes people’s pets are taken to illegal slaughter sites near markets and are then carved up and sold as meat while their friends watch in horror and wait their turn. Tragically, many of these animals were once beloved pets who have been stolen and chained up together, forced to witness their shared gruesome fate as they are mercilessly butchered one by one.

Can you imagine being trussed up in a blood-drenched market watching your friends have their throats slit, knowing your turn is coming?

There is hope for Zambia’s animals, but we desperately need YOUR support.

Our partner, the Cactus Foundation in Lusaka, intercepts shipments of dogs bound for slaughter, and nurses them back to health at its shelter. But the shelter is bursting at the seams and struggling to accommodate and properly care for the rapidly increasing population of dogs and cats rescued from abuse and the horrific dog meat trade.

The shelter is currently home to 360 rescued dogs and cats, many of whom have special needs and need lifelong care because of their traumatic ordeals. For many of the animals, Cactus is the closest thing to a home they will ever know.

As animal lovers, we must give rescued shelter animals in Zambia the comfort, care and compassion they deserve. Without our help, they stand a slim chance of survival.

We refuse to stand by in the face of such brutality. With your help, we can and WILL make a difference. Please, stand with us and help fight animal cruelty and the ruthless dog meat trade in Zambia!

We must equip our partner to aid traumatized victims of the dog meat trade. Our immediate priority is to help protect and care for these dogs.

Right now the dogs and cats urgently need food, medical care, and hygienic living areas. We must raise $5,000 (or £3,900) as quickly as possible to urgently get medical supplies and food for these animals in desperate need. Please, can they count on you today?

The dogs of Zambia desperately need your help. Please donate whatever you can. It will transform their lives.

Please donate now

After surviving the horrors of human cruelty and the brutal dog meat trade, the animals deserve no less than a full belly, a healthy body, a clean, comfortable space to sleep and, above all, love. Your donation today will give them all of this and so much more. So please, if you possibly can, donate generously to Network for Animals today and be the beacon of hope the vulnerable creatures of Zambia desperately deserve.

For the animals,

IMAGINE the FEAR and PAIN… a happy little dog… abandoned by her family… then brutally hit by a car and left to cry, suffer and die. 5

P.S. Your donation will help care for dogs rescued from terrible abuse and a ghastly dog meat trade that must be ended. We will fight to end the trade, but right now, food, medical care, and compassion are the most critical needs. Please donate today.
