Eleven years ago, Kurdish activists Fidan Doğan, Sakîne Cansiz and LeylaSaylemez were assassinated in Paris. A year ago, the attack on December23, 2022 targeting the Kurdish cultural center in Paris caused thedeaths of Evîn Goyî, Mîr Perwer and Abdurrahman Kizil. On SaturdayJanuary 6, 2024, let us be in large numbers in the streets in Paris todemand all light on these murders. Like every year, join the red andblack pole in the demonstration. ---- Twice in 10 years, activists ofthe Kurdish cause have been assassinated in the streets of Paris. OnJanuary 9, 2013, Sakine Cansiz (Sara), Fidan Dogan (Rojbîn) and LeylaSaylemez (Ronahî) were found lifeless, in the premises of the KurdistanInformation Center, in Paris, coldly executed with several bullets inthe head because that they were fighting for the liberation of theirpeople and women. On December 23, 2022, Emine Kara (Evîn Goyî, ex-YPJfighter), Mir Perwer (artist) and Abdulrahman Kizil (a veteran of theKurdish cause) were victims of an attack in front of the Ahmet-Kayacultural center , a place belonging to the Kurdish community.Numerous clues and documents have demonstrated that Ömer Güney, the 2013assassin, had operated under the orders of the Turkish secret service(MIT), and that he belonged to the Turkish fascist Gray Wolves movement. He died shortly before his trial. The second assassin, William Malet, was not tried under the category of terrorism, even though his remarksdemonstrated his terrorist and racist motivations, and the conditions ofthe attack leave no doubt that it was aimed at a meeting of Kurdishactivists to organize the demonstration on January 7, 2023. By refusingto lift defense secrecy since 2013 as well as by refusing to carry outan in-depth investigation into the possible links of the second assassinwith the Turkish services, the French state is protecting the sponsorsof these murders. The Turkish government's dirty war continues in KurdistanThe Kurds continue to suffer constant offensives from the Turkish state. In Turkey, taking the pretext of an attack claimed by the PKK on October1 against the General Directorate of Security of the Turkish Ministry ofthe Interior, the Turkish state launched several waves of arrests indozens of cities. In total, more than 320 people were arrested, including members of the People's Democratic Congress (HDK), thePeople's Democratic Party (HDP, which has since become HEDEP) and NGOs.At the same time, Turkey carried out its largest military attack againstRojava since 2019, with 580 air and ground attacks against military butalso civilian targets, primarily targeting energy productioninfrastructure and food reserves. These attacks endanger the populationsof Rojava and make it difficult for them to access essential productssuch as bread, gas or drinking water. The political feminicides of Kurdish activists, the attacks in France, the repression in Turkey and the bombings in Rojava are part of the sameimperialist, fascistic and counter-revolutionary policy of the Turkishstate. It is always essential to reaffirm our internationalistcommitment in solidarity with the Kurdish people in struggle and todefend this revolutionary experience. This is why UCL will be in the streets on December 23 (anniversary ofthe second attack) and January 6, 2024 in the major Europeandemonstrations in tribute to the victims of 2013.Stop impunity!Truth and justice for the Kurdish comrades murdered in Paris in 2013 and2022!Lift the defense secret!Stop Erdoğan!Solidarity demonstrations December 2022-2023 (click to view)Following the assassination of three Kurdish comrades in Paris onDecember 23, 2023.
