A piece of Sicily has been catapulted, as happens in every conflict in
the Mediterranean area, including in the war taking place in Gaza andPalestine. The US and NATO Air Force are carrying out operations thereto cover the Israeli army's ground intervention. In addition to theSouda base, on the island of Crete, the Sigonella base is also involvedin these missions; the reconnaissance Boeing RC-135V Rivet Joint, calledHomer42, took off from the latter. The usual declarations about NATO nottaking part in conflicts are contradicted by the surveillance,coordination and intelligence function that it makes available to theallies in question. Exactly as he has been doing for 18 months in Ukraine.On 21 October the anti-war procession took place in Palermo promoted bythe NO MUOS movement. The demonstrators, coming from all the provincesof the island, numbering around 500, crossed the popular Guadagnadistrict, an unprecedented route that "snubbed" the touristized historiccenter to bring the cry of "Let's stop the war" among the classespopular and on the outskirts. From this point of view the procession was fully successful,implementing intense communication thanks to the numerous stops invarious points of the neighborhood, where the population stopped tolisten to the anti-militarist interventions, those in favor ofPalestine, against the war industry against military spending. Inthree interventions, these comrades highlighted the close correlationbetween the discrimination of disabled people and the cuts in care andsupport made by the government, comparing them to the increase inmilitary spending.
