We MUST transport 50 starving donkeys to safety immediately!

Please donate now

Dear,

In Zimbabwe, a heartbreaking crisis is unfolding as a crippling drought pushes countless helpless donkeys to the brink of starvation.

The cruel grip of this prolonged drought has ravaged much of the region – drastically reducing the availability of fodder, sending costs skyrocketing and leaving countless animals to die. We must act NOW to provide relief to these vulnerable animals.

There is a severe scarcity of food. 50 donkeys must be moved to a place where there is enough fodder. This is a fight for their very survival and with your help, we will not let the donkeys down.

Please donate now

Our partner, Matabeleland Animal Rescue and Equine Sanctuary (MARES) in Bulawayo, Zimbabwe, is a refuge for donkeys rescued from horrific abuse and neglect. With our help, MARES does a phenomenal job of helping donkeys. But the sanctuary is now in the throes of an intense, unprecedented crisis that threatens the survival of the equines in their care.

The relentless drought, coupled with a severe economic downturn in Zimbabwe, has created a critical situation. The closure of local businesses has reduced food sources and created transport issues, further compounding the challenge of providing food for desperately hungry animals. Without our help, donkeys will die.

It is unthinkable to stand by while these animals endure the slow torment of hunger. We are compelled to act; to save them before it is too late.

Anticipating this crisis, we have made arrangements with a local chief and acquired 1,000 hectares of land in northern Zimbabwe where grass is abundant due to a river and boreholes. This land will serve as a temporary refuge, where the donkeys will be fed and provided with the best possible care by our dedicated team on the ground.

We must urgently raise $8,000 (£6,200) to transport 50 starving donkeys to safety in northern Zimbabwe. Your donation today will ensure the animals survival – please, donate NOW!

We are facing a daunting task, and we cannot do it alone. Relocating 50 donkeys is challenging, and demands significant resources, manpower, and funding.

But, all these challenges can be overcome with your help. Your contribution will ensure a safe and comfortable relocation, covering the necessary transport, care, and sustenance as the donkeys adjust to their new home.

At MARES, food is scant. We need to move these donkeys as soon as possible to lavish land to give them the best chance at survival.
