ENGLISH:After the phenomenal concert given by Zlata Chochieva last November, the spotlights are now on one of the greatest piano talents of this generation.Few pianists are better placed to honour Chopin's life and work than Szymon Nehring.

The Polish pianist, born and raised in Chopin's native country, won the First Prize at the International Arthur Rubinstein International Competition.2024 promises to be an exciting year for the pianist, since he's about to start recording the Complete Pianoworks of F. Chopin, a tour de force to which he will devote himself over the coming ten years.It is on Saturday 20 January that he comes to Brussels with a particularly interesting program, as we've very rarely heard before.

The concert begins with a tribute to masters of the golden age, all pianist-composers, all Polish and all linked to Chopin.The program includes unknown works by Ignaz Friedman, Josef Hofmann, but also by Szymon Nehring's grandfather, Herman Nehring.After that, works by Frédéric Chopin himself are played, including the Polonaise-Fantaisie, Op. 61, but also the very rarely performed Rondo, Op. 1 - a premiere in ten years of existence of the Brussels Chopin Days - as well as the Berceuse, Op. 57 and Ballade Nr. 3, Op. 47.This promises to be a very special concert. FRANÇAIS :Après le concert phénoménal donné par Zlata Chochieva en novembre dernier, le projecteur est maintenant braqué sur l'un des plus grands talents pianistiques de cette jeune génération.Peu de pianistes sont mieux armés que Szymon Nehring pour faire honneur à l'œuvre de Chopin.

Le pianiste polonais, originaire du pays natal de Chopin a remporté, voici quelques années, le premier prix du Concours International Arthur Rubinstein.L'année 2024 promet d'être passionnante pour le pianiste, puisqu'il entame cette année l'enregistrement de l'Intégrale des œuvres pour piano de Chopin, un tour de force auquel il se consacrera au cours de la prochaine décennie.

Il vient à Bruxelles avec un programme particulièrement intéressant, rarement entendu auparavant.Le concert débute par un hommage à d'anciens grands maîtres, tous pianistes-compositeurs, tous polonais et tous liés à Chopin.Sont au programme des œuvres inconnues d'Ignaz Friedman, de Josef Hofmann, mais aussi du grand-père de Szymon Nehring, Herman Nehring.

Viennent ensuite des œuvres de Frédéric Chopin lui-même, dont la Polonaise-Fantaisie, Op. 61, mais aussi le très rarement joué, Rondo, Op. 1 - une première en dix ans d'existence des Brussels Chopin Days - ainsi que la Berceuse, Op. 57 et la Ballade Nr 3, Op. 47.

NEDERLANDS:Na Zlata Chochieva's fenomenale concert in november, is het uitkijken naar één van de grootste pianotalenten dat deze jonge generatie rijk is.Slechts weinigen zijn uit beter hout gesneden om het werk van Chopin eer aan te doen dan Szymon Nehring.

De Poolse pianist komt uit Chopins geboorteland en werd enkele jaren geleden Eerste Prijswinnaar op de Internationale Arthur Rubinstein Wedstrijd.2024 belooft spannend te worden voor de pianist, want dit jaar begint hij met de opname van Chopins integrale pianowerken, een tour de force waar hij de komende tien jaar zijn tijd aan zal besteden.Het is op zaterdag 20 januari dat hij naar Brussel komt, en dit met een bijzonder interessant programma zoals we nog maar zelden zagen.

Hij begint met een hommage aan enkele oude grootmeesters, allen pianist-componist, allen Pool, en allen gelinkt aan Chopin.Onbekende werken van Ignaz Friedman, Josef Hofmann, maar ook Szymon Nehrings eigen grootvader Herman Nehring staan op het programma.

Nadien volgt werk van Frédéric Chopin zelf, met onder meer de Polonaise-Fantaisie, Op. 61 maar ook de uiterst zelden gespeelde Rondo, Op. 1 - een primeur in het tienjarig bestaan van de Brussels Chopin Days - alsook de Berceuse, Op. 57 of de Ballade Nr. 3, Op. 47.
