Statement from FAU unions from various cities participating in thestrike: ---- The time has come, the negotiations on the collectiveagreement of the states (TV-L) have come to an end. To a good one? ----The hard facts are: ---- 25 month term ---- Bonuses until October '24and then wage increases of EUR200 and then another 5.5% from February---- No TVStud, just a contractual agreement with 13.25EUR/13.98EUR and1 year standard contract term ---- Ver.di has thus achieved itsself-defined minimum goal, a deal that follows the TVöD result. Itremains to be seen whether this will not be eaten up by inflation aftermore than two years, but it seems likely. It also seems likely that thedegree will still be accepted in the ver.di member survey.For TVStud it means disappointment. The TVStud will certainly be asubject of negotiations next time, but there is not much that can bedone with the measly wage increases, which barely rise above the minimumwage or, after adequate adjustment, could fall behind it again. Althoughlonger standard contract terms now apply, which help with organisation,these can be avoided for many reasons.The assessment of the local groups varies. While some are ready tostrike, others are on the fence. The ver.di and GEW unions have beencriticized for their communication strategy, which puts the agreement ina positive light, but their assessment that much more was not possiblegiven the current level of organization is also partly shared. However,the disappointment about the lack of TVStud unites everyone. The TVStudwill not disappear and our commitment will not be broken by a defeat.The lesson for next time: political promises, coalition agreements,demonstrations, and signature lists do not help. It's not the betterarguments that count, nor the number of supporters.
