A regime that has been valid for yearsfor many of us, who move between projects, change objects of employment,even scientific field according to the needs that exist, without everbeing seen as what we really are, i.e. employees of the center. So itmakes us wonder what really caused the termination of these"partnerships"...What the majority of us EKETA workers experience is a state of constantinsecurity and absolute dependence on the moods of each boss. Theseresult from our flexible working relations with the center, where themajority of us are employed with a Service Provision Certificate (SPC),our short-term contracts, the lack of basic labor rights, the lack of aCollective Labor Agreement. It is these conditions that make each andevery one of us expendable to the employer and give additional space toour exploitation, to the intensification of our work and to incidents ofemployer arbitrariness and terrorism.Under these conditions we cover the permanent needs of EKETA. On top ofour efforts, the center attracts funding of millions, while at any time,for any possible reason - for example, for the competitive attitude ofcolleagues/equals, any protest about working conditions and itsintensification through authoritarian methods, etc. -, as everything issubject to the "discretion" of the superiors, they can fire us. Ofcourse this can be done even without any pretext, keeping the"pretexts", when our contracts just end. At the same time, no matter howmany years we have been in the center, after we are expelled we are notentitled to an unemployment fund, nor even to any compensation.Under these conditions, we workers must organize ourselves at thegrassroots, so that we have the power to prevent and fight against suchincidents, against the individual impasse, against the dispositions ofthe bosses who treat us as expendable. Especially in a time of intenseimpoverishment due to ever-increasing precision, our lives areconstantly degraded by a constant assault by state and capital, ourmeans of struggle are battered and our hard-won rights and conquests arelost.This condition cannot continue!
