extending beyond it, designing a national day of visibility meant an
important step in organizing resistance, boosting community
articulations. This step was reinforced with the public event in
Brasília ("1st Marsha trans Brasil"), held on January 28, 2024.

According to data from the "Dossier: Murders and violence against
Brazilian transvestites and transsexuals - 2024", an annual survey
produced by ANTRA, referring to 2023, Brazil continues to be the country
that murdered the most trans people for the 15th consecutive year. In
2023, there was a 10% increase in the number of murders compared to
2022. Of the 155 trans people killed in 2023, 145 were murdered - many
of these murders involved extreme violence, such as charring, beheadings
and torture. The 10 other cases refer to suicides, pointing to the fact
that living conditions tragically affect the mental health of the
community. Underreporting of data still constitutes one of the problems
faced in surveying this situation, it is clear that the numbers are much
higher.

The moral patrol guided by the most regressive ideas of the extreme
right, the denial of citizenship by the State, the difficulties imposed
in obtaining and maintaining jobs and access to Education and Health,
the precariousness of life, gender-based violence, hate speech ,
persecution, death threats and murders make life expectancy very low for
the trans community. All this in the country that ranks first in the
world in terms of consumption of trans pornography on digital adult
content platforms - violence and objectification appear as two sides of
the same coin.

The fight for social protection requires public policies in the areas of
health, education, security, combating gender-based violence, etc.
focused on the life needs of transvestites and trans people. However,
even the claim that the social name be the main identification in the

directly in maintaining a predatory society. We long for a world in
which lives and social rights are not violated and denied, in which
sexualities flourish with the right to develop freely. Therefore, we
defend the struggle of the trans and LGBT+ community and collectively
build the tools to make this new world possible.
