On Saturday, January 6th, the annual major demonstration of the Kurdish
freedom movement took place in Paris in memory of the victims of theattacks in 2013 and 2022. Well over 10,000 people from all over Europecame together to raise the call for truth and justice for Sakine, Leyla,Fidan, Evîn, Mîr and Abdurrahman. They marched in a long demonstrationfrom Gare du Nord to Republic Square. ---- We also took part in thedemonstration this year. Members of the platform traveled from fivelocal groups. On site we joined the black-red bloc of our sisterorganization Union Communiste Libertaire. They gathered at the end ofthe demonstration and set the mood from the beginning with drums andmegaphones. International solidarity, the connection between thestruggles against oppression in Rojava and Palestine, and the need for asocial revolution and the expulsion of all imperialist powers from theregion were loudly emphasized in French and German. A large bilingualbanner made our common perspective clear: women's liberation,self-government, revolution!It is this perspective that we as anarchists share with democraticconfederalism and its social upheaval in Rojava.
