Now voters in Florida are joining their ranks. Constituents have collected 1 million signatures — more than enough to put a proposed constitutional amendment on the ballot. This gives constituents a direct opportunity to share their voices and enshrine abortion protections.
For decades, abortion access has remained protected in Florida. Back in 1989, the state Supreme Court ruled that the state's constitution implied a right to abortion. But now, the state has become a hotbed for anti-abortion extremism, with Republican legislators there hell-bent on controlling other people's bodily autonomy.
Yet the voters won't be condescended to. It's so inspiring to see constituents in Florida rise up and reclaim their rights to reproductive freedoms. Voters in other states should take notice and follow their lead!
P.S. Voters across the U.S. should take notice of what's happening in Florida and protect reproductive freedom with their own state constitutional amendments. Sign the petition.
