Dear friends –
Have you ever thought about starting a family? Or having children? Whether or not this thought has crossed your mind, one thing is certain: we all should have the right to start and have a family.
But for LGBT+ people in Mexico, creating a family and then gaining recognition for it remains an enormous challenge. Routine matters like registering a baby after birth or adopting become daunting obstacles for same-sex parents, who must endure long waiting times and discriminatory practices by government institutions.
The rights of rainbow families are still denied in Mexico, but the time has come to change that.
This June, as Mexico elects its next president, we're presented with an unparalleled opportunity to ask the prospective candidates to commit to the rights of all families if elected. But this will only be possible when you and thousands of All Out members speak up.
Join us in pressuring Mexico's next president to clear the way for every LGBT+ person wishing to start a family. Click here to sign the petition.
In the past years, we've had a historic victory by introducing marriage equality in all 32 states of Mexico. With a new government coming, there's momentum to take the next step and push for more victories, specifically for rainbow families.
This campaign asks the three presidential candidates to commit to protecting rainbow families from forms of discrimination that include child registration, adoption, and identity rights for rainbow families in Mexico.
We have a brief window of opportunity for people worldwide to speak up and your signature is of great help. Click here to sign the petition!
Thanks for joining this fight,
