profoundly anarchist: ---- In the 19th century, the industrial
revolution and the development of capitalism gave birth to the working
class who have never stopped fighting to win rights and guarantee their
dignity. In 1886 in the United States, workers' unions called for a
march to demand an 8-hour working day. On May 1, 1886, 340,000 workers
marched across the country. The police, under the thumb of a capitalist,
mafia and corrupt elite, violently disperse the demonstrators, leaving
two people dead and many injured.

The walls are then covered with calls for revolt. On May 4, the movement
continued on Haymarket Square in Chicago, the center of anarchist
protest. At the end of the demonstration, a bomb explodes among the cops
and kills some agents.

   Wrongly and as an example, several dozen anarchist activists were
arrested and eight of them were sentenced to death. It would later be
confirmed that the Chicago police chief had organized everything and
even undoubtedly ordered the May 4 bombing to justify the repression,
the massacre and to try to stifle the movement.

This tragic event will provoke the anger of exploited people around the
world. May 1 then becomes the International Day of Struggle for workers,
the working classes, and those who are struggling.

It is high time for fear and defeatism to change sides!

Today, we know, it is an entire system that must be brought down,
because as long as capitalism makes its law, helped by the States and
their cops who protect them, we are condemned to fight to preserve the
crumbs. It is imperative to establish a broader and more powerful
balance of power, through all types of actions that we think necessary.

Faced with the contempt and violence of big bosses, faced with
anti-social and racist state attacks, we must reclaim our lives. This
involves self-organizing locally to bring to life, here and now,
concrete alternatives, such as food cooperatives and self-managed
canteens, reception centers, international solidarity funds and many
other initiatives, to be consolidated. or build with those who fight
against oppression.

Local struggles and these alternatives respond to immediate needs. They
are as close as possible to the daily reality experienced, allow us to
escape from the doldrums and thus to glimpse the future world.

So enough of their "work value", May 1st is not a day to glorify work as
the Vichy regime established it in 1941! May 1 remains the symbol of
social liberation through direct action, as can the general strike,
expropriation and self-management.

We want to create a free society without class or borders, where each
person can define themselves and move as they wish without control or
discrimination.

initiatives...!
