Squat, third place, libertarian athenaeum, people's house or labor
exchange whatever the name. These places of meeting and exchange, of
social experimentation, quite simply of life and the desire for the
"Common" against the temptation of withdrawing into oneself, are too
rare to miss the opportunity to frequent them and modestly participate
in their dynamism. ---- Since November 2023, at 1st Impasse Lapujade in
Toulouse, a squat has opened. The place is welcoming, well documented.
An "Anti-militarist Anti-Capitalist Assembly" holds its meetings
regularly and shares its time in in-depth reflection (collective
reflection) which feeds into proposals for actions to be carried out by
anyone who wants to take them up. We - activists of the CNT-AIT - met
them during the evening that we organized at CRAS ON February 16:
Against all wars, Support for rebels and deserters from all over the
planet by presenting the Olga Tarartuta initiative. Interesting evening
and warm meeting, they invited us in return to come to their next assembly.
After having become better acquainted with the objectives pursued,
antimilitarism, "anti-fascization" of society, anti-capitalism, etc. we
shared the essential values and conception of struggle, direct action
and sabotage. The three action "debriefs" - Customization of Toulouse
"vélibs", distribution of leaflets against the school of war, against
collaboration with the arms industry - convinced us, so we offered to
join their initiative and in-depth reflection.
Companions thus participated in a distribution of antimilitarist
leaflets at the Paul Sabatier science faculty on March 7. (Text Paul

We also participated in the Assembly on March 12. The method chosen and
retained for this evening took the form of a collective reading of the
brochure "Against all wars, except just wars? The ravages of the lesser
evil and anti-imperialism in an anarchist environment.»
As the reading progressed, any participant could interrupt it and either
enrich it, or question the text and the Assembly on the meaning of the
writing in relation to our militant understanding of the real situation
that we are all experiencing. "Just" war "civilized war against criminal
war", social war or social struggle, class war, like so many traps and
myths invented by the system to accredit murderous necessity -
nationalism, sacred union and social harmony, natural defense against
aggressor-thus hiding the sole objective of not changing anything in the
system itself. Authoritarianism, repressive decisions and social
control... But also militant antimilitarism and pacifism, what meaning
and what actions?
Two and a half full hours, rich in quality collective exchanges and
learning.
