WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE RUSSIA - news journal UPDATE - (en) Russia, Avtonom: You Can't Win: "Trends of Order and Chaos" Episode 157 (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

Today we will again talk about two modern wars, which have already been

discussed more than once in the podcast. And we will find something in
common in them: both sides are not ready to win right now, and both wars
began according to the voluntaristic decision of "charismatic leaders"
with an unhealthy psyche. ---- Exercises on the use of nuclear weapons
---- Last week, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced exercises on
the use of tactical nuclear weapons. The Russian army advanced slowly,
but on the whole successfully: therefore, at the end of April, the
United States finally agreed on military assistance to Ukraine, and in
parallel, discussions began on sending NATO troops to Ukraine. And this
is the Russian answer...

One can only hope that for now it is still a matter of bluffing, but
when they begin to threaten with weapons, the distance to their use is
dramatically reduced. Both sides - NATO and the Kremlin - currently do
not believe in the possibility of their real victory in the Ukrainian
war. But defeat would be too costly for both sides.

Both sides are stalling with no real plan to win. And now mutual
pressure is already approaching the point of suicide for all humanity.
The east of Ukraine, to which NATO promises "freedom" and the Kremlin
promises the "Russian world," is simply being wiped off the face of the
earth. There is already a comparable amount of destruction in the
Russian Belgorod region, and recently a Ukrainian drone flew all the way
to Bashkortostan for the first time.

Fanatics command, skaters suffer
Another war in which the parties have no real plan to win is between
Israel and Hamas in Gaza. Negotiations for the release of Israeli
hostages and the conclusion of a long-term truce have begun and stopped
numerous times, with both sides stalling for time.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu apparently believes that a long war
will give him political points within Israel; Hamas is playing for time,
hoping that as a result of international pressure on Israel they will
still be allowed to retain power in Gaza.

Hamas does not care about the suffering and death of Palestinians in
Gaza, the Israeli government does not care about the lives of the
hostages and the fact that Israeli soldiers are dying almost every day,
and that because of the war, tens of thousands of Israelis are still
refugees within their small country.

The knot of a complex geopolitical showdown is tightening around Gaza,
which could potentially develop into a much larger war than now.

Hamas, an organization of religious fundamentalists, has controlled Gaza
since 2007. Netanyahu has helped Hamas stay in power many times over the
years. To divide the Palestinians and in opposition to the secular (but
extremely unpopular due to corruption) Palestinian Authority ruling in
the West Bank.

For the same reason, under Israeli control, Hamas received money from
Arab countries and the European Union for many years: it was no secret
that the money was not used to overcome poverty, as was declared, but
for weapons and the construction of underground tunnels.

The publication of Haarza (an Israeli publication similar to Novaya
Gazeta) is very interesting: the text is in Hebrew, but can be
translated well by any automatic translator. The investigation says that
the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023 has been prepared in Gaza for
several years, and almost openly. Hamas, among other things, publicly
discussed plans for the future reconstruction of the territory in which
Israel is located after the successful military invasion from Gaza.

Obviously, Israeli military intelligence saw all this, but the plan was
so crazy that it was not taken seriously: apparently, Israeli analysts
in uniform believed that this was just Hamas rhetoric for the residents
of Gaza.

But Gaza was ruled by Yahya Sinwar, one of the leaders of Hamas, a
fanatic who served 22 years in Israeli prisons. He actually gave an
insane order...

Isn't this similar to the Russian quasi-tsar, who in February 2022 went
nuts from his unlimited power and, quite possibly, suffered a little
mental damage while sitting in Covid quarantine, and also made one wrong
decision?

Instead of an epilogue to this issue, I suggest you just look at the
Instagram of skaters from Gaza. There's a poignant, recent post: how the
kids had their skate park bombed, and they made a new one for
themselves, on the ruins of another bombed house.

Well that's all for today! We remind you that in Trends in Order and
