WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE ITALY UKRAÏNE - (en) Italy, UCADI #186 - Ukrainian slaughter (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The Ukrainian massacre, which began in Maidan Square in January-February

2014, after having gone through various phases, is still claiming its
victims today and sowing the country with deaths. of blood, of ruins,
the result of a fratricidal war of which there is no end in sight. Over
the years, the conflict has intensified and become more complex, new
actors have entered the field and the civil war has transformed into a
war between states which today threatens to explode in the third world
war, this time nuclear and definitive.
As a consequence of the political crisis that broke out in the country,
the eastern oblasts of Lugansk and Donnesk declared secession, seeing
their economy crushed by the competition from Western industries to
which the doors were opened. At the same time, Russia regained control
over Crimea which since 1956, despite being Russian territory, had been
administratively entrusted to Ukraine, then the Federated Republic of
the USSR.
The parties had in fact violated the Budapest memorandum in 1992 with
which they proceeded with the denuclearization of Ukraine which at the
same time undertook to maintain an intermediate position, adhering
neither to the Western nor to the Russian bloc and Russia for its part
undertook to respect the territorial integrity of borders between
states. Over the years the conflict continued with alternating phases
until the Minsk conferences were convened, called to resolve the crisis;
in the meantime, guerrilla warfare continued in the eastern provinces
conducted by voluntary paramilitary formations that tried to repress the
popular uprising. Meanwhile in Ukraine, while Western influence was
growing under the Poroshenko presidency, US and British intelligence was
secretly training the Ukrainian volunteer army to be sent to Donbass and
Russia was supporting the separatists with weapons and volunteer troops.[1]
The election of Vladimir Zelensky to the Presidency of the Republic
seemed to open a new era and in fact attempts were put in place to start
negotiations and resolve the problems through negotiation, but in the
meantime, starting from 2019, another powerful actor had entered the
conflict. The Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople, antagonist of
the Moscow Patriarchate on a global level, had promoted the formation of
a schismatic Orthodox Church, recognizing it and granting it
autocephaly, with the intention of subtracting the Ukrainian Orthodox
eparchies from the Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate, pertaining
to the Patriarchate of Moscow: hegemony over Orthodoxy was at stake!
Thus, alongside the conflict of a political nature, another of a
religious, radical and profound nature opened up, on which those who
seek the causes of the Ukrainian conflict remain silent.[2]
On February 22, 2021, Vladimir Putin broke the deadlock and launched the
so-called special operation, implementing a failed invasion attempt on
the capital's route, trusting in the collapse of the regime and an
uprising of the population in his favor. The too many Russians
encountered increasingly determined resistance not only from
part of the Kiev army, secretly trained by NATO, but also by part of the
population.
Closed within the walls of the Kremlin, the Russian leader knew little
about the changes in the composition of the population of that part of
the country which had become strongly Westernized over the years, under
the pressure of careful and prudent propaganda from Western countries.
He ignored the concentration of interests that had arisen around a
powerful group of Ukrainian oligarchs linked to multinationals and
intent on placing the country's agricultural production on the
international market, proceeding with the acquisition of state
properties put up for sale, an issue that had already formed ground in
2019 of conflict between the government and medium and small farmers,
leading to victory for the landowning oligarchs who had acquired
political and economic control of this transformation. It should be
added that the production activities located in the western and central
part of the country had changed suppliers of raw materials, sourcing
from the Western market, rather than depending on supplies from Russia
and had begun to acquire Western technology, especially in the sector
linked to logistics and grain trade, gravitating towards the port of
Odessa and the Central European market.
On a military level, the supply of modern armament to the small
Ukrainian army made up of volunteers and professional elements allows
the country, under the guidance of a political class that resists the
conflict, to repel the invasion of the West and facilitates the
conversion of its economy into that of war. Since then the directions of
the Russian attack With the typical slowness of its war machine, Russia
restructures the military intervention, while the sanctions on Ukraine,
while the Russian war machine works incessantly in three shifts to meet
the needs of the army at the front. Kiev is also forced to resort to
compulsory mobilisation, but while Russia can insist on a population of
144 million, due to the extensive bombings, the escapes from the
country, the victims of the conflict, Ukraine today has the map of less
than 30 million inhabitants, many of whom are disabled and Ukraine has
radically changed and the intervention is concentrated on the eastern
oblasts of the country. The Russian army seems to be slowly and
methodically aiming for the course of the Dnipro as a natural border
between the two countries.
After two and a half years of war, Russia has mobilized more than a
million men to pour onto the ground to support the clash in trench
warfare on a 1,000 km front that runs across the entire country from
north to south.

A destroyed and divided country, a non-existent state

The incessant bombings to which Ukraine is subjected have destroyed a
very large part of its industrial and productive structure, have razed
its energy infrastructure to the ground, dissolved its health
organisation, profoundly undermined its education system, pulverized its
services, and above all annihilated the budget of A state that is
totally dependent on funding provided by Western allies, the United
States and the European Union, which provide not only for the payment of
weapons, but for all the country's needs, starting with the pension
system, to providing food supplies. Almoner Zelensky is responsible for
periodically collecting alms at every speech
and with every intervention he extorts funding from the West, reminding
it that he is waging a proxy war, in defense of the West. In the war
economy, the oligarchs who financed it by electing it have the
opportunity to enrich themselves further, while that part of the
population that remained in the country greedily acquires the assets of
those who chose or had to abandon the country: corruption and profits
war reigns supreme. Not only that, but alongside the war between states
there is an ongoing internal war, conducted without holds barred, by the
clergy of the schismatic Church who are attacking property, churches and
monasteries, economic activities and land, belonging to the canonical
Orthodox Church, accusing it of being linked to Moscow. Taking advantage
of the opportunities offered by Orthodox canon law which gives ownership
of the place of worship to the faithful, the churches still belonging to
the Orthodox canon law are invaded by nationalists linked to the
schismatics. These people, declaring that they are faithful who use that
place of worship, approve its transfer to the schismatics while the
local administrations attest to the legality of the procedure for
joining the schismatic Church. The measures of the administrative
authorities then provide for the transfer of property, carrying out a
robbery to the detriment of the religious freedom of the faithful, as
well as of the canonical Church, with all due respect to religious
freedom. Thus since the beginning of the war 35 churches and dozens of
monasteries have
changed ownership. Although the economic and political reasons for this
operation are evident, the aim is that of social control to be
established over the population, proof of which is that it is
accompanied by the suppression from the calendar of the saints of those of
Russian, to the change in holidays (Christmas on December 25th, instead
of January 7th as Orthodox tradition would have it), by the change in
the names of the streets and squares, by the ban on the performance and
study, with consequent destruction, of books by Russian authors , even
those belonging to the country's classical literature.
The utmost effort is dedicated to building an often non-existent
Ukrainian identity, rewriting history and trying to impose an
anti-Russian narrative of events, aimed at digging an unbridgeable gap
between the two peoples. It is argued that a form of decolonization is
underway in the country which concerns the religious and spiritual,
cultural and historical aspects, which will have to lead the country to
anchor itself to Western values, which are in fact trampled upon and
denied starting from the freedom of worship and thought. Whatever the
military outcome of the war, the country's identity and its deep soul
will be destroyed

The reasons for peace

Meanwhile, the massacre continues and the Kiev government is forced into
compulsory military service, calling people up to the age of 27 to arms,
extending the military service indefinitely, causing phenomena of mass
desertion on the part of those who refuse to go to war and they go into
hiding. More and more people are being swept away by swollen rivers this
season and are trying to cross the borders into Hungary or Romania to
avoid being called to arms. This is while the Ukrainians who have taken
refuge abroad and have been called up to arms refuse to return to fight
and therefore have seen their services suspended by the consular offices.
Yet the conditions for reaching a ceasefire and peace negotiations were
already there the day after the outbreak of hostilities between the two
countries. During the Istanbul talks, the content of which was revealed
by specialized magazines and most recently by the New York Times, a
peace plan had been developed by the parties and provided for the
recognition of the annexation of Crimea, the neutralization of Ukraine,
its possibility of joining the European Union, the referendum within a
few years and under UN control in the eastern oblasts on their
willingness to stay in the country or join Russia.
What prevented this from happening was the British Foreign Minister
Johnson, who went to Kiev to impose the refusal of the signature,
arguing that it was possible to win the war against Russia. What pushed
the British politician, who had strongly wanted this war, was the fact
that the main objective of the conflict had not yet been achieved.
It consisted of bringing the European economy and in particular Germany
to its knees. For England and the United States it was of essential
importance to reduce the competitiveness of the European productive and
industrial apparatus, increasing the costs of energy supply. To achieve
this result it was necessary to sever the energy cord that linked Russia
to Europe and therefore destroy Nord Stream two, an infrastructure
opposed in every way by the United States even before it came into
operation.
Taking advantage of the ongoing war and the retirement of Merkel, the
great protector, together with many other German politicians, of this
project and this infrastructure, which not by chance had its own German
terminal in the former chancellor's Lander, it was finally possible to
strike the infrastructure, sabotaging it, as happened. Add to this
the Western intention, thanks to the ineffable strategies developed by
the foolish Stoltenberg, secretary of NATO, to weaken Russia, wearing
out its economy and resources, while the strategic objective,
subsequently achieved, of exploiting fear should not be underestimated
resulting from the Russian military intervention in Ukraine to push
European countries still outside NATO to join it.
It's a shame that the Ukrainian and Russian people are the ones who pay
the price for all this, forced to tear each other apart on the
battlefields and leave their lives to rot in the trenches of Donbass;
It's a shame that the main victims of all this are the European peoples
forced to bear the economic cost of this war and to see the resources
that would be necessary for their well-being and welfare disappear, with
the consequence of seeing advanced by a on one side poverty in Europe
and on the other the right-wing parties, which take charge of national
interests and, faced with a left that
has lost the ability to oppose the war, they gain support, passing
themselves off as supporters of peace.
