The Llaryora government, in tune with Milei's attack on workers, has
been drastically reducing the salaries of those of us who support public
education. Since August of last year, teachers have lost a third of our
purchasing power. Llaryora's "new" salary proposal brings cosmetic
modifications with respect to the one that was already unanimously
rejected by the teaching staff, whose central axis is an increase that
only equals the CPI of the previous month (consumer price index), which
in the month June was %4.08.
Faced with the need for a greater increase to restore the teaching
salary that is below the poverty line, the Llaryora government, in
complicity with the provincial leadership of the UEPC led by Cristalli,
seeks to generate attrition in all teaching to impose their offer of
misery. In this framework, the government dictates mandatory
conciliation, accepted without question by the provincial leadership of
the union, ignoring the mandate of the school and departmental
assemblies of the union itself, which in more than 75% voted for a plan
of struggle that included no start of classes. It is evident that this
sector led by the UEPC Provincial is openly an ally of Llaryora and
seeks to pass its adjustment on public education. Cristalli and the
celeste want to contain the anger over teaching, they are not willing to
fight over our salaries.
Faced with poverty wages, work overload, the terrible conditions of
school infrastructure and workplace violence, it is necessary that we
deepen the organization from below to follow the path marked by the
recovery of the UEPC Capital Delegation. In Córdoba we are only going to
twist the adjusting arm of Llaryora and Milei by rejecting conciliation
and miserable offers with the struggle, actions from schools,
assemblies, strikes and mobilization. Conciliating with the adjusters
and starvers will only bring more misery for the workers and greater
emptying of our public education.
