Despite the polls, we will continue to fight for the city from our
territories. We would like to invite you to this conversation to
strengthen ourselves because we know that it is easy to become
discouraged by the results and speeches that surround us at this time,
but we insist: those who fight are not dead. ---- Come with us to build
communities of struggle that bother those at the top, whether those
elected or those who finance them. ---- On Saturday, November 9, at 3
pm, at Praça Germinal Michele, behind the Salgado Filho School, in Morro
Santana.
Voting for liberal representation, a model criticized by us anarchists,
is a mechanism of distortion, usurpation and fraud. It is not a
deliberative vote on a concrete program. Furthermore, it is conditioned
by the power relations of a society that is unjust and unequal to the
core, where the parties of order and the capitalist interests that
finance the game dominate. Bourgeois parliamentary democracy produces a
voting subject who has no power over his or her demands, in which
parties and politicians confiscate political power by the minority at
the top.
The traditional right once again won the elections in our cities, while
Progressivism, in turn, celebrated the victory of the democratic
bourgeois sectors of the broad front, downgrading their proposals or
compensating for their defeat with gains in representation in the bench.
In Porto Alegre, but not only, the discourse about the "poor right-wing"
assumes a very problematic idea that measures everything by electoral
behavior and has a serious elitist bias that further isolates the
progressive left from reality. The fact is that there is a mass of
people who are dissatisfied or indifferent to the electoral process,
which made abstentions, null and blank votes gain a majority.
Neoliberalism colonizes the dreams of the lower class and perhaps the
best image for those who gave up the nonsense of success for work is
that of individual bets, bets and influencers who propagate the idea of
"getting rich no matter what". In bourgeois politics, this means
negotiating some immediate advantage with those who have more power. The
collective and social change are left out.
