Police reported that the woman had procured six "casket boxes" and a large freezer, each holding the remains of multiple dogs — clear signs that this brutal treatment was not an accident, but actually premeditated. Of the survivors, 17 dogs and two cats crammed into filthy crates in a basement filled with the stench of waste. Most of the animals were emaciated.
