During the march on August 4, the response of the police forces present
was repression, with tear gas thrown at the bodies of thosedemonstrating and truncheons until late at night. ---- We were aware
that it would not end like this. ---- We report the arrival of
notifications of the opening of investigations and the start of
procedures for the issuing of some tranche notices against some
comrades, accused of "misrepresentation and damage, with the aggravating
circumstance of having caused harm to a structure for public use". ----
We therefore have some questions to ask those who accuse us:
1. Does dismantling a public structure mean damaging it? If so, how is
it possible that the dismantling of public health, education and social
services systems throughout Italy has been, and still is, allowed?
2. How could a place like a military base be of public use, where access
is forbidden, which allows bombing - killing millions of defenseless
people - and which poisons the local population - emitting
electromagnetic fields that cause tumors and other serious health problems?
3. That day we made a choice, and it was to cut those nets with our
faces uncovered, and we claim this choice. However, we want to point out
that that day, while those nets were falling down with the force of
hands and shears, the police were throwing tear gas at us with CS gas,
the use of which in war has been prohibited since 1997 following the
Paris Convention on Chemical Weapons because it is considered a harmful
weapon.
We did not want to hide, but rather to defend and defend ourselves.
Defend the cork oak forest, Sicily and our bodies.
We claim openly that we do not want that base and the prospect of
dismantling it, piece by piece, will continue to be a priority.
We reiterate our determination to liberate the lands to which we belong
from military occupation, whether they are occupied by the armies of the
US governments or those of NATO.
These notifications do not discourage us. We confirm as a short-term
perspective, that this year for the first time the winter camp will take
place in Niscemi, from December 29, 2024 to January 3, 2025. In doing
this, we send the accusations back to the sender: war is not a service,
much less a public service.
In saying this, we express closeness and sisterhood with the
Palestinian, Kurdish, Armenian, Yazidi, African, South American people
and of all origins, ghettoized, discriminated against, oppressed and
tortured.
In this dramatic historical moment, we are even more complicit with all
the souths of the world and with all the peoples who rebel against
colonial and imperialist oppression.

December 30, morning: Extractivism and devastation of the territory,
Italian and international perspectives; lunch; afternoon: Extractivism
and devastation of the territory, Sicilian perspectives; dinner,
evening: docuforum on the "transformed belt" of Ragusa.
December 31, morning (probably in the premises of the Municipal
Library): Alternative economies, let's start from our struggles, outside
and inside Sicily - Exhibition of local agricultural and artisanal
self-productions; lunch; afternoon/evening: a final farewell to 2024:
games and music, joy and struggle!
January 1, morning: resistant breakfast; lunch; afternoon: Those who
fight on New Year's Eve, fight all year round! "Let's go back to the
cork oak forest", excursion through the Niscemi woods; dinner.
January 2, morning: Fight against patriarchy, internationalist
perspectives; lunch; afternoon: Workshop on self-defense in the garrison
and workshop in the village on consensus; dinner.
January 3, morning: National Assembly "Internal and external war:
analysis, strategies, alliances"; lunch; afternoon: "Unnerving
repression", workshop on resistant self-determination; conclusion and
farewell.
In the meantime, a third comrade has been reached by the "proposal for a
deportation order" for the post-procession of August 4th. To him, and to
the two comrades who preceded him, we renew our infinite solidarity.
