Over 3,500 Lives Saved, Countless Hearts Touched.  A Year of Lifesaving Compassion Across Continents

Dear friends,

As 2024 comes to a close, we at Animals First Aid (AFA) are humbled by the incredible work we’ve accomplished together. This year, we’ve crossed borders, extended lifelines, and offered hope to thousands of animals worldwide. Your support has been the heartbeat of our mission, and today, we want to reflect on the lives we’ve touched and look forward to the work ahead.

From the streets of Lanseria and Soshanguve in South Africa to the shelters of Serbia, Tunisia, Tanzania, and India, your generosity has saved lives and created stories of hope. Let’s celebrate these milestones together.

Animals First Aid is an IRS-designated 501(c)(3) charitable organization (tax ID# 99-1042428), with a public charity status under Section 170(b)(1)(A)(vi). We are qualified to receive tax-deductible bequests, devises, transfers, or gifts under Sections 2055, 2106, or 2522.

A Year of Compassionate Achievements

Here’s what we accomplished with your help:

Lanseria Ferals, South Africa:
A colony of feral cats in Lanseria faced starvation, disease, and neglect. This year, we worked with local rescuers to provide sterilizations, food, and medical care. Your donations have helped these resilient cats live healthier lives while reducing overpopulation through humane methods.

Soshanguve animal shelter and Educentre, South Africa:
In this underprivileged community, animals often suffer from neglect due to limited resources. Through partnerships with local rescuers, we provided food, vaccinations, and veterinary care, ensuring that vulnerable dogs and cats received the help they desperately needed.

Tunisia:
Maria Stella Tabascio Fricano’s L’Arca di Noé – Hope Shelter in Ariana have been lifelines for over 200 animals, especially disabled and abandoned dogs. With your support, these shelters received critical resources like food, medicines, and shelter improvements.

Tanzania:
Abandoned dogs and neglected equines in rural areas found relief through our support with the help of TAWESO. With veterinary supplies and food, we helped save countless lives in regions with little to no infrastructure for animal welfare.

Serbia:
At OAZA Serbia, we supported the care of abandoned cats and dogs, providing food, shelter, and medical attention.

Blindlove, South Africa:

We supported Blindlove by raising funds to care for their rescued equines, covering essential costs like feed, medical care, and shelter, ensuring these abused and neglected horses have a safe and loving sanctuary.

Morocco:
At the You Can Save Me shelter, we aided animals suffering from extreme medical issues, including life-saving treatments for a cat with a tumor.

India:
Susmita Mandal’s Medicine Bank in Kolkata became a beacon of hope, delivering critical medicines to animals in need.

Serbia:
Our partnership with Vera Vita saved five abandoned kittens, giving them a chance to find loving homes.

Where We’re Headed in 2025

Looking ahead, we’re more determined than ever to build on this year’s successes. Here’s what’s on the horizon:

Lanseria Ferals Support Program:
We plan to increase resources for sterilizations, ongoing medical care, and food for this resilient feral cat colony.

Soshanguve Animal Welfare Expansion:
By deepening our outreach in Soshanguve, we’ll provide education on responsible pet ownership, sterilizations, and enhanced veterinary services.

Medicine Banks Across India:
Building on Susmita’s foundation, we’ll expand the Medicine Bank to serve more regions, ensuring animals have access to life-saving medicines.

Sterilization Clinics in Tunisia and Tanzania:
To combat overpopulation, we will fund and operate spay/neuter programs to reduce suffering.

Shelter Upgrades in Tunisia:
At L’Arca di Noé, we aim to build tiled cubicles, a quarantine area, and proper shelter for their growing number of rescued animals.

Disaster Preparedness:
Expanding our Global Rescue Initiative will ensure rapid response to natural disasters, saving animals in crisis.

Education and Community Engagement:
From rural South Africa to urban India, we will amplify efforts to promote adoption, responsible care, and humane treatment of animals.

Your Role in the Journey Ahead

Your support has made everything possible, and we need you to continue this journey. A year-end donation to AFA will directly impact the lives of animals in need. Every dollar means food for a feral cat, medicine for a sick puppy, or shelter for an abandoned dog.

Together, We Are Their Hope
