Recently, we rescued a mother dog and her helpless puppies from the city pound, where they faced certain death. Their story is one of resilience in the face of unimaginable hardship. The mother arrived with severe mange, her skin raw and half her fur gone, while her pups were weak and terrified. |

| This family is just one of the many cases SARA faces daily. Our refuge is a sanctuary for over 900 dogs, 200 cats, and 8 equines, all rescued from cruel fates. Many were abandoned, others were victims of abuse, and some were saved from government culling programs that still plague the streets of Morocco. SARA also supports about 300 dogs who remain in the city pound, ensuring they have food and basic care, even as they await a brighter future. |

The cost of food alone is staggering, and that doesn’t even include medical care, sterilizations, and shelter upkeep. Consider the numbers: It costs approximately $100 to save a single dog from the streets. That includes sterilization, deworming, vaccinations, and basic medical care. For the hundreds of animals already in our care, monthly feeding costs alone run into thousands of dollars. Every donation, no matter how small, directly impacts these lives. |
