Inspectors Told to Wear Hazmat Suits at Home With 47 Hoarded Animals Sign Now    Dear friends, Authorities in Ontario, Canada recently rescued 47 animals from a woman's condo. She had collected 10 cats, 19 rats, nine birds, four degus, two hedgehogs, a guinea pig, a chinchilla and a tortoise. The woman waited several weeks to allow inspectors inside. In fact, she stated that she no longer lived at the property due to its accumulated sanitation issues.   Once there, inspectors found no litter boxes. Instead, feces, urine, and dead flies carpeted the home's floors, and the place had a "decaying smell." In fact, the stench was so horrible, officials warned inspectors to "wear a hazmat suit" when entering the property. Even worse — the woman tried to hide from authorities how many animals were in the home. This included attempting to hide a dead animal from inspectors. The woman ultimately admitted that her mental health had prevented her from properly caring for the animals. Pets are dependent on us to do our best for them. While it is heartbreaking to know that this woman was enduring a mental health crisis, she also has shown that she is unable to provide for animals' basic needs. For the sake of pets' well-being, she should not be allowed to live with or own animals in the future.
