Expansion of the "extremism" registry ---- On December 12, the State
Duma very cheerfully, immediately in the second and third readings, adopted a bill expanding the inclusion of citizens in the lists of
extremists and terrorists. In particular, now they can include citizens
accused of publicly disseminating so-called "fakes" about the Russian
army, or discrediting the RF Armed Forces. That is, those who write the
truth about the war against Ukraine. The law should come into force on
June 1, 2025.
In the American film "The Nuremberg Trials", judges of the Third Reich
are on trial. Their lawyer builds a defense on the basis that these
judges were enforcing the laws of their country. But these laws were
inhumane, and the judges do not receive an acquittal.
The laws of the state, the interests of the state - this is what they
try to cover up any lawlessness committed by this state.
Cross on integration
In Russia, they continue to terrorize not only their own citizens and
prisoners, but also migrants, most of whom come to earn money. Last
week, the State Duma, just as quickly as the previous time, passed a law
banning the enrollment of migrant children who do not speak Russian in
schools. Only one deputy voted against.
Another populist measure with serious consequences. That is, on the one
hand, it is clear that the tension growing in society can be habitually
turned into xenophobia, on the other, what will such a measure give? It
will give a lot of problems with integration into society. Such children
and teenagers can become a breeding ground for the emergence of criminal
or ultra-religious groups, and if the state wants to have an adequate
strategy, then it should be interested in integration.
A new wave of emigration can just evaluate how different countries solve
the problem of educating foreign children. Since I know more about Spain
from my friends, I will tell you how it is there, and someone might want
to add in the comments the experience of other countries, it may be
different. In Spain, any child has the right to go to school, even if
their parents are illegal immigrants. Moreover, studying in a public
school is a must. There are also centers where teenagers can come after
school. There they can use computers to do their homework and
participate in various clubs and cultural programs. A foreign child is
usually enrolled in a class that is appropriate for their age. They
learn to communicate with other children, and teachers are trained to
combat bullying, as well as racial and gender prejudice. Of course, it
is difficult to learn a language in one year, or to catch up with the
school curriculum if it is very different from the opportunities that
were in the country of origin. But in Spain, staying for a second or
even third year is not a shame, but an opportunity to adapt. There are
also schools for teenagers and adults over 18, where they can either
study the language separately or take a program and pass exams.
Spain's population is aging, and it needs workers and qualified
specialists. Integration is beneficial to society, which some confuse
with assimilation, which is wrong. Assimilation is the complete
acceptance of another culture with the loss of one's own. There is no
need for this during integration.
Europe and refugees
Of course, we should remember that states remain states. And if they
accept migrants and refugees and promote integration, it is more for
their own benefit. When it becomes inconvenient for them, they find a
way to throw people out into the cold. Many European countries have
already suspended issuing asylum to Syrian citizens, and Austria has
announced a suspension of family reunification and the introduction of a
new "orderly repatriation and deportation program."
Despite the fall of the Assad dictatorship, the number of refugees
inside Syria itself has only increased. In previous trends, my colleague
was just analyzing conflicts between different Muslim movements, and the
Hayat Tahrir al-Sham group is also a radical Islamist group, which means
it poses a danger to other Muslims. The leader of the armed rebels told
Reuters that he would "disband the security forces of the previous
regime and close the infamous prisons."
But so far, there are reports that some people are simply being killed
without trial.
And Turkey, which has long had its hand in Syria, is bombing Kurdish
territories, and there are civilian casualties, but traditionally its
NATO colleagues look the other way, and Erdogan, who tortures political
prisoners in his prisons and wages war against the Kurds, is no better
than Putin. This is the kind of hypocrisy that we have been observing
for many years.
According to the author of these trends, the only project that gave hope
for peace in all this bloody slaughter was presented by the autonomous
councils of Rojava, where the main driver is the Kurds, but other ethnic
groups are also involved. This is the so-called DAANES - Democratic
Autonomous Administration of Northern and Eastern Syria. But for Western
politicians this project is too leftist.
Human Rights Day
Last week, December 10, was "Human Rights Day". On December 10, 1948,
the UN General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human
Rights. At that time, it seemed that the atrocities and horrors of World
War II should teach humanity important principles, and if everyone would
observe them, then new Hitlers would not threaten us. But since the
observance of human rights was primarily entrusted to states, they
treated them, as they say, to the extent of their depravity.
I will leave a link to the set of Human Rights, including the duties of
states to observe them. From this reading you will learn that not a
single state observes these rights.
In addition to the basic rights, namely:
"States must refrain from interfering directly or indirectly with the
exercise of your rights. For example, the state must not torture people
or enslave them. The state cannot force you to work in a field that you
did not choose voluntarily or forbid you from speaking your language. ",
states must respect all the others:
"A violation occurs when a government fails to meet its obligations to
respect, protect and fulfil these rights. Often, a violation of one of
these rights is linked to a violation of others. Examples of such
violations include:
Forcibly evicting people from their homes (the right to adequate housing
and the right to choose where they live)
Contamination of drinking water by wastewater treatment plants (the
right to health and the right to life)
Not being paid enough wages to live in dignity (the right to work and
the right to equality before the law)
Deprivation of access to information and services related to sexual and
reproductive health (the right to health and the right to life)"
And so on.
It only remains to state once again that states promise protection and
security, but in reality not only do not fulfill these obligations, but
are themselves a source of violence and coercion.
Protests in Georgia
As every anarchist knows, rights are not given, they are taken. Last
Friday, in Tbilisi, which faced harsh suppression of protests, a
solidarity march against repression took place. Our comrades took part
in both the protests and the march. You will find photos and videos from
the barricades on our Telegram channel.
Refugees from Bethlehem
Speaking about the problems of refugees and migrants, I cannot help but
recall a very ancient story, which some people believe to be true. In
connection with this story, they decorate the streets, arrange sales and
make good money. Everyone has already guessed that in winter we are
talking about Christmas.
Not only did poor Mary, according to legend, give birth in a barn, but
she then had to flee to Egypt with her newborn, saving the child from
the massacre carried out by the despot Herod. I suspect that not
everyone who considers themselves to be bearers of the "European
Christian culture" remembers this. I also suspect that in our time, Mary
with her husband Joseph and baby Jesus might not have had any chance of
getting out of the city of Bethlehem, either to Egypt or anywhere else.
Santa Claus vs. Putin
In the Soviet Union, Christmas was cancelled, but then the tree with
gifts was brought back, and Santa Claus was supposed to hand them out.
And what would be the best gift for the New Year? Definitely not war and
repression. So we are announcing a concert in support of the festival
"Santa Claus vs. Putin".
Read the details on our resources, keep it secret.
Well, that's all for today! We remind you that in "Trends of Order and
Chaos" the participants of Autonomous Action and other authors give
