WORLD WORLDWIDE RUSSIA - news journal UPDATE - (en) Russia, Avtonom: What is dead cannot die: "Trends of order and chaos", episode 189 - prepared by the Antijob.net project. (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The title of this episode is "What is dead cannot die", because today we

will talk to you about Russian medicine. What is happening to it can be
easily described by the news of the past week. ---- There is strength -
no need for intelligence ---- The week began with the arrest of an
Arkhangelsk neurosurgeon. A criminal case was opened against the doctor
for "financing extremist activity". According to the investigation, in
2021-2022, the neurosurgeon transferred 3.5 thousand rubles to the
Anti-Corruption Foundation (FBK).

Nikolay Serebrennikov is a talented doctor with 25 years of experience,
performing complex and unique operations. For the removal of 3 vertebrae
affected by a tumor and their replacement with implants, Nikolay has the
title of "best doctor of the year". Patients online thank the
neurosurgeon for successful operations and describe him as a high-class
professional, a doctor with "golden hands".

And then the specialist with "golden hands" was attacked by blockheads
and taken to jail. It doesn't matter what benefit a person brought to
society with his work, what matters is that he was not loyal to the
authorities. Idiots who twisted doctors, not even thinking about what
orders they carry out and who they serve, are much nicer to the Russian
elite than talented doctors, and even those who have a civic position.
What medicine will eventually turn into with such goal-setting should be
clear to everyone.

Burn or rot?
You can die quickly or rot slowly. This week, ambulance drivers in two
places at once announced that they were going to quit collectively.
Ambulance drivers of the Sholokhov District Central Hospital in the
Rostov Region recorded a farewell video addressed to the residents of
their district. The drivers say they can't work like this any longer.
They are no longer going to tolerate the hospital management's attitude
- the management leaves one team on duty for the entire district,
sending the second to transport patients to neighboring cities. The
drivers work very overtime.

"We are probably saying goodbye to you - this is our first and last
appeal to you," the drivers said. - "God willing, others will take our
place and work better than us."

It is unlikely that God will give us something like this, because no one
wants to work in such conditions and for such a salary. According to the
drivers, the cars are not repaired at all, and this essentially makes
the ambulance drivers "criminals", since they go out on the road in
faulty cars. Even the heating in the ambulances does not work - because
of this, the drivers get sick.

"They make us work overtime. We risk not only our lives, but also the
lives of patients and other road users," the drivers say in the video.
They also talked about their salaries. Drivers receive a "pittance" -
less than 20 thousand rubles, but they have too many responsibilities.

A team of drivers decided not to sign a new employment contract and to
quit the Sholokhov district ambulance service from the new year.

A similar story happened in the city of Chebarkul in the Chelyabinsk
region. Ambulance drivers wrote mass applications for dismissal due to
low salaries. According to them, it is only 25 thousand. That is, not
much more than their colleagues from the Rostov region.

But in this case, publicity about the problem had an effect, but only a
little. The deputy minister of health of the region met with the drivers
and offered them a bonus of 7,000. Unfortunately, the workers bought
into this and withdrew their applications. On the one hand, this is a
victory in a sense, but do the ambulance drivers themselves need such a
victory?

32 thousand is better than 25, but it is still a ridiculous amount for
such a job. Perhaps drivers could demand a 4-fold or at least 2-fold
increase in their salaries. Otherwise, inflation will eat up the
government's handout in less than a year. In general, in our opinion, it
would be better if they actually quit and saw how these deputy ministers
and the ministers themselves would solve the problem of the lack of an
ambulance. After some time, drivers would be offered larger sums, and
they could see if it would be better for them, for example, to work for
Yandex Taxi than at their previous job.

This would be a good educational practice for both bosses and, by the
way, for citizens too. Because an ambulance that doesn't arrive is a
good incentive to get out of the "I'm not interested in politics" state,
and the level of "goyda" also decreases sharply. This is harsh, but it
is even worse to slowly rot and eventually rot completely.

The barn burns down - the house burns too
Not only ambulances are rotting away their days, but also state
pharmacies, at least in the Voronezh region. This was reported in a
video message by the employees of Voronezhfarmatsiya.

Pharmacies are closing en masse. Over the past few years, pharmacists
say, out of 100 state pharmacies in the Voronezh region, only 50
initially remained, but their number continues to decrease. Pharmacy
employees say that their salaries have been regularly delayed.
Pharmacists are quitting en masse without ever receiving their salaries,
and many have been laid off. The remaining pharmacists work for three,
without receiving any money for months.

According to the employees, a "reorganization" is taking place - the
pharmacies have been transferred to the Quality Control Center, which
cannot properly manage the Voronezhfarmatsiya network. The employees are
also being given away "like furniture" along with the institutions. The
main feature of the reorganization is that the pharmacies will now be
located in district hospitals and clinics.

According to the pharmacists, their workload has increased
significantly, since customers come to them from all over the region.
Now people in villages and towns are forced to travel several kilometers
to other areas to get the necessary medications, including discounted
and rare prescription drugs. The situation with vital medications is
worse - the employees say that in 2 years, the commercial departments
have been completely destroyed. Deliveries of drugs are either delayed
or stopped altogether - this happened with potent psychotropic drugs.

"And if they tell you that everything is fine with the provision of
medicines to rural areas, it is a lie," the employees warn. "We have
stopped supplying medicines even to feldsher-midwife stations throughout
the year. And from January 1, we are completely terminating all
contracts for the supply of medicines to feldsher-midwife stations. We
contacted the president's office, the head of the Investigative
Committee Bastrykin. No one could help us, our requests were sent to the
region. No one there will deal with the current situation, because they
are all already aware of what is happening, and they are satisfied with
everything."

What will happen to the Motherland and to us?
Let's also touch on the topic of the future. Last week, medical students
in St. Petersburg worked as street cleaners, clearing a paid parking lot
on Konnaya Street. At the same time, they were not paid anything, except
for the ghostly opportunity to get additional points when entering
residency.

The city is in dire need of street cleaners, in some places the streets
are covered with snow. Officials and deputies intend to regularly
involve students in snow removal work and even announced the amount of
payment - 250 rubles per hour. However, they decided not to pay medical
students. Some of them were driven voluntarily-forcibly, some showed up
of their own free will - for performing the duties of janitors, the
students were promised "help" with entering residency, accruing bonus
"high hours".

The unpaid workers were designated "volunteers". The students working on
the roadway were given "Volunteer Company" windbreakers instead of
special clothing and high-visibility vests. Before the work began, they
were herded together for a photo shoot with a V-gesture, and then given
plastic and metal shovels, with which the future doctors began to chop
the icy snow.

"We shovel[the snow]so that the parking lot is clean. If there are cars,
we need to clean between the cars. Understand? If there is snow on the
sidewalk near the house, it also needs to be cleared," Fontanka, which
visited the site, quotes the curator as saying.

The applicants for the residency did a great job clearing the paid
parking lot. By the way, the entire street around it had already been
cleared of snow.

The speaker of the Legislative Assembly, Alexander Belsky, previously
claimed that the student cleaners would not be working their asses off
for free: "I would like to emphasize an important point: I saw the
wording online that "students will be forced to clear snow," but it is
fundamentally wrong. We are not forcing anyone. The team members
themselves decide on employment, will receive money for their work, can
choose the area to clean together with the foreman, and make a
convenient schedule."

In addition, Belsky advised the students to take a closer look at
janitor work, because it is possible that this is their calling: "By the
way, another significant advantage of this kind of part-time work is
that guys from the regions can use it to lay the foundation for the
future. Perhaps someone will like this field and decide to make a career
out of it: after graduating, they will get a full-time job for
completely different money." Perhaps medical students in paid parking
lots are already adjusting to their new career.

The question: "Will such students grow up to be future neurosurgeons
with "golden hands" instead of those that the authorities will lock up?"
is probably rhetorical. As is the question of whether such students will
be able to fight for their labor rights in the future. By the way, we
recently made a video about the reasons why things are so bad in our
country with this very fight. We highly recommend everyone to watch it.

Well, that's all for today! See you soon! And stay healthy! We remind
