Lives have been lost and shattered, evacuations have resulted in climate refugees, states of emergency have unfolded, untold amounts of money have been spent on emergency response, infrastructure has been damaged beyond repair, and air has become toxic. The fires that have been burning through Los Angeles are the direct result of climate change and biodiversity loss, both of which continue to threaten our national security.
