WORLD WORLDWIDE US USA - Wildlife - re:wild - Helping Los Angeles heal 💚

Dear friends,

Our hearts go out to everyone affected by the recent fires in Los Angeles. Lives have been lost and shattered, evacuations have resulted in climate refugees, states of emergency have unfolded, untold amounts of money have been spent on emergency response, infrastructure has been damaged beyond repair, and air has become toxic.

The fires that have been burning through Los Angeles are the direct result of climate change and biodiversity loss, both of which continue to threaten our national security.

Together with Leonardo DiCaprio, our Rapid Response Program has committed $1 million to support both urgent needs and post-fire recovery efforts.

Catastrophes driven by the climate and biodiversity crises are becoming increasingly frequent, but we know the ultimate solutions: protecting and restoring our planet while overhauling our food, transportation and energy systems.

Visit the link below for immediate ways to help Los Angeles County residents both now and when recovery efforts can begin.

Creating safer, healthier spaces for everyone

By protecting and restoring the ecosystems that capture and store carbon—and the diversity of wildlife these ecosystems depend on—we can prevent catastrophic climate crises across the world.

Our partner Re:wild Your Campus is leading the charge of transforming college campuses and community spaces into safer, healthier environments. By eliminating toxic pesticides and incorporating native plants, they are empowering students and community members to create vibrant, sustainable spaces that benefit both people and the planet.

This two-day virtual program is designed for youth leaders on campuses, but everyone is welcome! We can all benefit from learning about the impact of toxic chemicals in our communities.

The wild is the most effective solution to climate change and biodiversity loss. By working together, we can protect and restore our planet.

We don’t need to reinvent the planet. We need to rewild it.
