At Network for Animals, we believe no injured dog should go untreated or suffer alone. That’s why we support a small veterinary clinic in Khayelitsha that is a lifeline for injured, abandoned and stray dogs in the community, offering heavily discounted services to destitute pet owners. Yet the clinic struggles every single day to pay for the specialized equipment needed to save broken bodies and shattered limbs. Currently, the clinic desperately needs surgical pins – vital for mending bones of dogs struck by cars. A single operation to repair a fractured leg can cost $375 (£300).
The clinic relies on grants and donations to continue offering these crucial services – but with so many dogs in need, it’s not enough. They desperately need us – need you – to continue saving lives. |
