Donate now Share Tweet Forward Share Dear friends, Over ten thousand critically endangered tortoises are fighting for their lives after two devastating cyclones destroyed their sanctuary in Madagascar. Now floods are threatening to kill them. Credit: Tortoise Survival Alliance Our partner in Madagascar, Turtle Survival Alliance, has so far recovered several thousand from fast-rising waters. Around 5,000 of the rescued tortoises are juveniles, and their prolonged exposure to the floodwaters has put them at acute risk of pneumonia.  They require urgent, specialized care to survive, and to receive this, they MUST be relocated to our partner’s remaining sanctuary, roughly 234 miles (375 kilometers) away.  Transporting the tortoises will cost around $3000 (£2800). Please help them by making a donation today.  Credit: Tortoise Survival Alliance The importance of rescuing these radiated and spider tortoises cannot be overstated.
