After months of severe financial turmoil, NFS reached a point where it could pay the rent or continue feeding and caring for their 600+ cats. True to their mission as animal-lovers, NFS chose to put the cats first, even though it meant falling behind on rent.
Tragically, after missing payments for several months, they were served an eviction notice, informing the sanctuary to vacate the premises by mid-February.
Thanks to our supporters' generosity, we secured an extension from the landlord by paying outstanding rent and covering the lease until the end of March, buying us valuable time to save the sanctuary AND the cats. But once these funds run out, the team still won’t be able to cover rent and food, medicine and care for over 600 cats.
We have a sustainable, long-term solution to save the sanctuary and the cats – but we can’t make it happen without your help.
NFS has identified a property that would make an ideal permanent home for the animals, but they need our help to build up the facilities and make the move. |
