This Sunday, February 16, a screening of an antifascist film organized
by comrades from Young Struggle and Kurdish comrades in the ACTITpremises in Paris was violently attacked by about twenty individuals
armed with sticks and knives. One comrade was hospitalized following
several stab wounds. We have had news of him, he is fine. We offer our
full support to the comrades who were attacked and particularly to the
injured, whom we hope will recover as soon as possible. ---- The
perpetrators of the attack clearly identified themselves by shouts such
as "Paris is Nazi!" and stickers bearing the Celtic cross often used in
Paris by the GUD, a neo-Nazi group dissolved in 2024, and other stickers
from the KOB, Kop Of Boulogne, a far-right hooligan group from PSG.
It is not insignificant that such an attack occurs while the Minister of
the Interior Bruno Retailleau publicly claims sympathies for far-right
groups and stirs up a climate of hatred towards people from immigrant
backgrounds and left-wing activists. If the racists and neo-Nazis of the
KOB feel confident enough in this context to take up arms, we must stand
together to resist them with our own means. Opposition to the far right
today takes place on the streets, as much as through ideological resistance.
It is imperative that our Kurdish and anti-fascist comrades can continue
to gather in Paris without fear of violence or intimidation. Thus, we
stand firmly by their side, and call on you to join them this evening at
6 p.m. at Gare de l'Est, near the scene of the attack, to affirm that
Paris is and will remain anti-fascist.
