Negotiations on Ukraine ---- Last week, there was a lot of discussion
about Trump's negotiations with Putin regarding the division of
Ukrainian territory. So, pardon me, but again about Trump, who promised
to end the war. On February 12, he called Putin about this, and then the
President of Ukraine Zelensky. ---- The very fact of negotiations
between the US President and Putin is, of course, a failure of the
entire policy of isolating Russia, which, however, was never complete.
It also became clear that Trump does not consider Ukraine an independent
entity. And he also does not consider the opinion of its European allies
important.
Well, in general, who would be surprised. Trump considers himself the
king of the world, who can buy everything. As usual, no one asks the
opinion of the Ukrainians themselves. What I read and hear from friends
- people are extremely pessimistic. Of course, everyone wants peace, but
they understand that they are essentially being forced to capitulate on
unfavorable terms, despite assurances from American politicians to the
contrary.
The new head of the Pentagon, Pete Hegseth, said: "We also want a
sovereign and prosperous Ukraine. But we must start by recognizing that
returning to the borders of Ukraine before 2014 is an unrealistic goal.
Pursuing this illusory goal will only prolong the suffering." This means
that many of my refugee friends will not be able to return home, because
they do not want to live under occupation. It also means that the
lawlessness with the disappearance of civilians that has been happening
throughout the war will continue in the occupied territories, and an
aggressive militaristic narrative will be imposed, starting with
kindergartens and schools.
It turns out that Putin has achieved his goals and can almost celebrate
victory? Well, how can that be... The United States should get half of
Ukraine's rare earth elements. And let's say Ukraine is not accepted
into NATO, but the US can deploy its military organizations in Ukraine
to protect the deposits.
In general, all this strongly resembles the Munich Agreement of 1938.
Then European countries made concessions to Hitler at the cost of
Czechoslovakia's territories. This did not lead to peace. And although
the Russian proverb says that "a bad peace is better than a good
quarrel", in this case two brothers agree on the division of territory.
All this is disgusting and vile. As well as disputes with those who
defend "effective managers" for whom "the forest is chopped down - chips
fly", and this is justified. Chips are living people whom "effective
managers" do not take into account. But this is what states do. More or
less democratic, or not at all democratic, they are not interested in
your life, they are interested in their own benefit. That is, the
benefit of those who got to power, and those whose interests they lobby.
The Musk couple plus Trump demonstrate this in the most obvious way
possible.
Is there an alternative? Yes. And it is in a stateless society.
Otherwise, we will never break out into the 21st century. Or it will
become a new feudalism, just with high technologies aimed not for the
benefit of people, but for their control and coercion.
Three years of war
While politicians are dividing Ukraine like a pie, demonstrations
against Russian aggression are planned in many cities abroad. I think
that now it is especially important to show support for Ukrainians in
their unwillingness to become part of the Russian empire. On our
resources you can find announcements of some of the marches, although,
of course, there will be more.
"Efficient Management"
Meanwhile, while the hostage exchange between the Israeli government and
Hamas has finally continued, Trump has proposed deporting all
Palestinians from Gaza, and although this idea was voiced and gave rise
to a large number of Riviera memes the week before last, I still have to
argue with Russian-speaking supporters of mass deportation. They
consider this an act of humanism, otherwise all Palestinians will have
to be killed. But for some reason, these Palestinians really don't like
those who want to deport or kill them en masse. It's a shame that among
those who support the right and the far right, there are many former
Russians. Having left Russia, they continue to carry the narrative of
solving all problems with violence, deportations and purges. And then,
they say, peace and tranquility will reign among the peoples, although
all history shows exactly the opposite.
And it's good when people understand that their ideas have nothing to do
with humanism, and understand that they hate everyone who is left of
center for humanism, proudly calling themselves pragmatists. And some do
not understand at all, what is wrong with their ideas? And here we again
return to the fact that in the 21st century, the methods of Hitler and
Stalin for many people who think within the framework limited by
capitalism are just methods of "effective management". Although even if
we discard the ethics and humanism that they hate so much, what kind of
economic and political effect in bombed and destroyed Germany? Or in the
fact that the USSR economy lagged behind other countries? First in
space? But the chief designer was almost killed first during
interrogations, then in the camps. A strange concept of efficiency.
Denunciation as a reason for fun
And since we've touched on ethics and how people perceive their own
ideas and actions. I recently witnessed a very unpleasant story when
former colleagues of one of my friends discussed how it would be good to
write a denunciation on her. Because she's run away, you see, and she
still goes to Russia to see her parents. And the last thing they
expected was that my friend would find out about it.
And so, some of the participants in the discussion think that everything
is fine, while others are very offended that their actions were called
vile, and that they themselves are also bad people. And what excuses
they didn't come up with, but many, like children, first said that they
were not them at all, and then that it was just a joke. Probably, when
they read books about war and fascists as children, they imagined
themselves as heroes. But real life has shown that it is much easier and
safer to get approval as a hero among fascists. And so it is hard to
face the truth. All the more valuable are people who have not succumbed
to the manipulation of social recognition. This applies not only to
Russians. We are now seeing how the whole world is turning to the right.
Right turn
Before the early elections in Germany in February, the BBC published an
article "Why are more and more young people in Germany supporting the
far right?", from which we learn that many of these young people
actually consider themselves quite moderate.
"Dr. Rüdiger Maas from the think tank Institute for Generation Research
says that left-wing parties often focus on topics such as feminism,
equality and women's rights. "In general, men do not see themselves in
these topics," he says. "That is why they tend to vote for right-wing
parties."
I will quote from the article:
Hard populist right-wing parties are also making progress in countries
such as France, Austria, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Italy.
"Sixty percent of young men under 30 are considering voting for the far
right in the EU, much more than the proportion of women," says Tariq
Abu-Chadi, professor of European politics at Oxford University, based on
a study of the 2024 European Parliament elections (European Election
Studies).
By the way, Elon Musk is an active supporter of the far-right
Alternative for Germany, and no, his Ziga is not random. I would not be
surprised if he rehearsed it in advance.
Anarchy versus fear
In the same article, why young people choose the right, many young
people share their fear. And fear has always been a powerful means of
manipulation, perhaps more powerful than social recognition. The right
benefits from terror and intimidation. In fear of the horrors of the
world, a person should feel like a frightened and confused child, and
here the right acts as a parental figure, promising protection and
recognition.
Anarchism is adulthood and maturity. Anarchism is courage and
responsibility in making independent decisions, without placing them on
Putin, Musk or even the most democratic party.
We all hope that the Russian dictatorship will come to an end, and when
the peoples of Russia begin to build a new world free from despotism, we
would like to not repeat either our own or others' mistakes.
Well, that's all for today! We remind you that in "Trends of Order and
Chaos" the participants of Autonomous Action and other authors give
