| Will You Stand With SARA and its 900 dogs — Like You Always Have? |
| | Today, we invite you on a journey of resilience, hope, and unwavering compassion as we share the stories of Alma and our newest stray. Animals First Aid, in collaboration with Sunshine Animal Refuge Agadir (SARA), continues to make a profound difference in the lives of Morocco's most vulnerable animals. Yet, we cannot do this alone. |
| | | | | A Story of Survival: Alma’s Journey |
| Her name is Alma, a sweet, gentle soul, just four to five months old. Alma’s life took a tragic turn when she was involved in an accident in Agadir. The call for help came at a difficult time, as SARA was grappling with a parvo outbreak and couldn’t take her in immediately. The kind-hearted people who found her reached out to You Can Save Me shelter, who covered the cost of her surgery, but they too were unable to accommodate her. So Alma waited, patiently and quietly, staying with a man at his workplace for about 10 days. |
| | | | | When the outbreak subsided, SARA stepped in, bringing Alma to safety. We vaccinated her, treated her for fleas and worms, and gave her the warmth of a living room to sleep in. During the day, Alma moves freely, soaking in the sunlight and feeling the earth beneath her paws, maybe for the first time since her accident. Alma’s journey is far from over, but with your help, we can ensure she continues to thrive. |
| | | | | Finding Hope: Chance’s Road to Recovery |
| Another heart-touching story is that of a resilient stray, whom we’ll call Chance. Chance came to us as a fragile soul, his body broken but his spirit unyielding. This brave stray, whom we now lovingly call Chance, has been with us for less than two months. In that short time, he has already faced more challenges than most animals endure in a lifetime. When Chance was found, his front and back legs were severely fractured. The pain he must have felt is unimaginable, yet there was a spark of hope in his eyes, as if he knew that life could be different, that kindness could still find him. His first steps toward healing began with two critical surgeries to repair the fractures, procedures that required both skill and compassion from our veterinary team.
|
| | | | | Despite the trauma, Chance never gave up. He remained gentle, allowing us to care for him, trusting that we were there to help. His resilience is nothing short of remarkable. But his journey isn’t over yet. To fully recover, Chance now needs one final surgery to remove the pins that have held his bones in place, allowing him to finally move without pain. It’s the last step in giving Chance the life he deserves — a life where running, playing, and being loved are part of his everyday routine. Chance has shown us what it means to fight for a better tomorrow. His courage is an inspiration, a reminder that with a little help, even the most broken souls can heal. Now, more than ever, he needs your support to complete this final stage of his recovery. |
| | | | | A Legacy of Compassion: How Your Support Made This Possible |
| Over the years, Animals First Aid and SARA have faced countless challenges. Remember when we united to save the abandoned animals in Tifnit? Or when 900 dogs, 200 cats, and 8 equines desperately needed food and shelter? You stood with us then, and we saw lives transformed. Your support brought warmth and care when 200 shelter cats faced starvation, and when we fought to save Teddy, whose hind legs and tail were severed in a brutal attack. Every time we faced an emergency, you were there. When SARA’s 900 dogs and cats needed safe and healthy lives, you didn’t hesitate. You helped us be a voice against cruelty, to stand strong for Morocco’s most neglected animals. |
| | | | | Ongoing Support: Why Your Monthly Gift Matters |
| Now, Alma and Chance need you. Their journey to recovery is underway, but they still have a long road ahead. Alma needs ongoing care and the comfort of safety. Chance needs surgery to complete his healing. Your monthly donation will help us ensure they both get the care they deserve and allow us to continue supporting the life-saving work SARA is doing every single day.
How You Can Help Your commitment of just $10/£8/€9 a month can provide food and medical care for a rescued animal. A gift of $25/£20/€22 each month can help cover ongoing veterinary costs. By becoming a monthly donor, you’re not just helping Alma and Chance; you’re ensuring that more animals receive the care they desperately need. Your support today will make a lasting impact on their lives and the lives of many more animals in Morocco. |
| | | | We cannot do this without you. Please, join us in giving Alma and Chance a future. Your compassion has always been the force behind our mission, and with your continued support, we can transform suffering into safety and despair into hope. Thank you for being part of our journey. |
| By donating this cause you will be helping “SARA” in Morocco. |
