WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE ITALY SICILY - news journal UPDATE - (en) Italy, Sicilia Libertaria #457 - Trampism, Europe, new order, global war (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The reactionary wave of Trampism, feared by many, has arrived and is
shuffling the cards of all European chancelleries. ----The Trump
administration, even before taking office at the White House, has
outlined its lines of conduct by redesigning North American politics and
entering European politics with force. The billionaire Musk, who has
jumped on the winner's bandwagon, has immediately highlighted his very
strong sympathy for the extreme right and pro-Nazi European parties,
longing for their victory in the upcoming elections in the various
States of the Old Continent, starting with the German ones.

But the most interesting fact to record is how Trump himself, in first
person, has exposed himself in trampling on international law and, even
before taking office in the White House, has clearly indicated that
North American supremacy comes before everything else, hypothesizing the
expansion of the borders of the States, longing for the annexation of
Greenland (Danish land) and even neighboring Canada to the USA, as well
as the military occupation of the Panama Canal, to remove it from
Chinese control. The proposal to rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf
of America is clearly a boast, but it makes clear what the intention of
the Tramp administration is in international relations. Relations that
are put into crisis with a sudden package of duties on imports from
Canada, Mexico, China and from old Europe itself. The transition from
words to action took place on February 1, when Trump announced that new
customs tariffs would come into force in three days: 25% duties on all
imports from Mexico and Canada and 10% duties on imports from China.
Trump then announced specific tariffs on certain products: taxes, again
of 25%, on all imports of aluminum and steel into the United States.
According to US government data, Canada, the main supplier of aluminum
to the United States, and Mexico are still in the crosshairs. The
European Union is also at risk, with estimated losses of up to 3.7
million tons of steel exports, according to the Union's steel industry
association. Not content with this, the new US President stated that the
US allies are "often worse than our enemies" on the trade front. Trump
then announced that he intends to impose new duties on imported cars
starting in early April.

But it doesn't end there. Trump is attacking international institutions
and tearing up agreements signed by previous American administrations,
starting with the US withdrawal from the WHO. The actual withdrawal of
Americans from the World Health Organization will start on January 27,
2026. Trump has also signed an executive order authorizing sanctions
against the International Criminal Court, accused of improperly
targeting the United States and Israel. The order includes both
financial sanctions and visa restrictions against ICC officials and
their families who have collaborated in investigations of US citizens or
allies.

On a geostrategic level, Trump immediately criticized the European
countries that are members of NATO, which according to his
administration do not invest sufficient sums in armaments, threatening a
US disengagement from the Alliance if the allied countries do not
increase their economic contribution to war to at least 5% of GDP.

One of Trump's pre-election promises was to put an end to ongoing armed
conflicts. But this is obviously happening in his own way. In the Middle
East, unconditional support for Israel is clear. Trump bluntly announced
that the US will "take control of Gaza" once the truce between Hamas and
the Zionist state is concluded. The White House's crazy plan envisages
Washington's "long-term" management of the territory, with the
possibility of displacing hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to other
countries, with no certainty of returning to their land. To this he
added the clearly macabre provocation of transforming Gaza into a sort
of "Mediterranean Riviera of the Middle East" and threatened to suspend
economic aid to Jordan and Egypt if they do not welcome the refugees.

On the European front, Trump's policy undermines the very existence of
the EU, which in the space of three years has seen the collapse of the
three main pillars that allowed it to excel at an international level:
low-cost energy from Russian gas pipelines, privileged trade with China
via the Silk Road, the NATO military umbrella guaranteed by the United
States.

The crazy choices of the last three years have highlighted the weakness
of Europe which, with unconditional support for the Kiev regime, has
become a discarded pawn on a chessboard managed by Washington.
The skyrocketing price of gas and energy, the blockade of trade
relations with Russia, the sudden slowdown of the Silk Road have put the
European economy in crisis starting with the German locomotive and
rekindled discontent among the classes most affected by the crisis,
which have become breeding grounds for the pro-Nazi far right, openly
sponsored by the multi-billionaire Musk. The unemployed number in the
hundreds of thousands, generated by the deep crisis of the entire
manufacturing sector and in particular the automotive sector. The crisis
is opening the doors to liberticidal legislation, such as the security
package in Italy, which tend to address popular discontent in a rigid
and police-like manner and to manage any potential war climate in an
authoritarian manner.

In Europe, Germany, France and Italy, pushed by the US administration of
Biden, have been the main supporters of the Kiev regime, and have
demonized Putin's Russia, holding it solely responsible for the ongoing
conflict, pushing away the possibility of a peace negotiation, foolishly
believing that the military force provided to Ukraine by the entire
Atlantic Alliance would have forced the army of the Russian Federation
to capitulate.

A prediction that was wrong to say the least, in fact the Russian army
still controls a third of the Ukrainian territory and, despite heavy
losses, does not seem at all on the verge of collapsing. While the
Ukrainian army (despite the billions of aid provided by the entire West)
is showing great difficulties and is weakened by the continuous
hemorrhage of men generated, in addition to losses on the field, by tens
of thousands of desertions. In this context, Trump is pushing to start
peace talks by speaking directly with Russian President Putin and
sidelining the European Union and Zelens'kij's Ukraine itself.

Like a skilled businessman, Trump wants his own profit and compensation
for the billions of dollars given to Kiev to support the war. Grabbing
the rare earths present in the Ukrainian subsoil is an objective that
the guest of the White House wants to achieve in a concrete way. To do
this, the relationship with Russia becomes a priority, in a logic of
division that recalls the Munich agreements of 1938. Disgracing the
Ukrainian president, delegitimizing him, treating him like a laughing
stock by calling him a "dictator never elected", "holder of a consensus
of 4%", "mediocre comedian", "waster of hundreds of billions of dollars,
which no one knows where they ended up", incapable conductor of a "war
that he would never have won", is in the logic of things to make
separate agreements with Russia.

Trump's policy clearly tends to humiliate the European Union, make it
pay the price of military defeat, make it less competitive on the
commercial level, push it towards recession.

Added to this is the clear intent to distance Putin's Russia from the
embrace with Xi Jinping's China. Trump sees China as the true
antagonist, the true enemy to be stopped and scaled down at a strategic
level. This scenario can become very dangerous and a prelude to a clash
between the two truly great planetary powers.

In a world increasingly governed by unscrupulous fixers and warlords,
full support for draft dodgers and deserters of all wars, boycotting,
sabotaging the war machine, supporting the peoples who fight against the
aims of the imperialists, become the primary duty of all those who fight
for a better world.
