 A few hours ago, Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau announced that he

was initiating adversarial proceedings to dissolve the anti-fascist
group La Jeune Garde. By launching this procedure, the minister is
complying with the request made by the National Rally (RN) for several
months. At the same time, the Urgence Palestine collective announced on
its social media that it had received a letter declaring similar
proceedings against it. By simultaneously attacking a group emblematic
of the anti-fascist movement and a central collective in the movement of
solidarity with the Palestinian resistance, the minister is only further
pursuing the line of a government in the hot seat, always quick to offer
signs of friendship to fascists. This is despite France experiencing two
deadly attacks in recent days: a femicide committed by a young Nazi
admirer in Nantes, and the murder of a young Muslim man in a mosque in
Grand-Combe (Gard), whose Islamophobic motives are beyond doubt. The
minister confirms, if need be, the government's desire to stifle any
challenge to the French state's pro-Israel policy, at a time when the
genocide committed in Palestine is reaching unimaginable proportions.

This is a frontal attack on popular self-defense, following the numerous
dissolution procedures aimed at repressing the entire social movement,
which notably targeted the Palestine Vaincra collective and the Earth
Uprisings.

The UCL reaffirms, as always, its unwavering solidarity with all our
comrades in struggle. It is high time for all components of our social
camp to respond decisively to this further provocation, by all possible
means, through the law and in the streets. Anti-fascists,
anti-imperialists, and internationalists, through our numbers and our
determination, let us put a stop to the criminalization of our struggles
by Retailleau, the government, and its far-right allies.
