On Sunday, March 23, 2025, we invite you to an event on the topic of
transformative justice, starting at 6:00 PM, in cooperation with RoteHilfe Trier. ---- What are alternatives to the police and the legal
system? Black communities in the USA have long been concerned with this
question. In order to address the consequences of violence more
effectively within their own community, they developed the concept of
transformative work with violent individuals. This is part of
transformative justice and community accountability approaches. -----
The event will provide insights into the approach and the work. It is
also about inspiring and encouraging people to use and organize
transformative work in their own communities.
Transformative work with perpetrators of violence offers an alternative
approach that both enables the perpetrator to reflect and change, and
also has a preventative effect, as the perpetrator hopefully will not
resort to violence again in the future and, in addition, raises
awareness in those around them. The goal is to reduce and prevent
violence for the future and strengthen prevention.
We are pleased to welcome Ann Wiesental from the RESPONS group.
