Today we don't commemorate, today we fight. May Day is a day of
struggle, born from the sacrifice of those who faced exploitation with
dignity and organization. This day belongs to the working class, a
diverse, combative, and transformative class. There were those who
wanted to settle the struggle for history by eliminating all utopias,
but the class struggle is still present. Capitalism, in the midst of a
maelstrom of crisis and imperialism, inflicts its predatory logic on our
class: precariousness, inflation, war, colonialism, dispossession. There
is no individual solution; the only possible response is collective. It
is therefore necessary to bring out our weapons of battle: organization
to advance, strikes to exert pressure, and revolution to emancipate
ourselves.
Fight in the workplace
Organizing in neighborhoods and educational spaces is necessary: for
housing, against fascism, and for human rights. However, without a clear
organization and a revolutionary vocation in the workplace, it is
difficult to inflict batzacs-precise blows-that lead to a comprehensive
transformation of society.
Current labor exploitation is pressing; one only has to look at the
ongoing conflicts in our immediate context: in the social and dependency
sectors, in education and healthcare, in street cleaning, and in
communications. Added to this is the push from the offensive to housing
speculation and the precariousness of life, closely linked to our
material conditions. Trade unionism must confront these struggles as a
broad mass space, a tool that our movement supports as key to achieving
a revolutionary horizon. This trade unionism must comprehensively
address all material issues and commit to a practical proposal that
reaches all strata of a diverse working class.
As libertarian socialist organizations, we fight to place material
conditions at the center and build our victorious social strength by
providing the revolutionary trade unionism we align with with
experiences of struggle.
The War Is Not Ours
The drums of war beat to the rhythm of the interests of global capital.
The bourgeois elites push us into conflicts that are not ours. The dark
storms herald a time of commitment and persistence to create a new world.
In the face of state militarism and its machinery of death, our response
is clear: war between peoples is a defeat for humanity. The struggle
against imperialism, as undertaken by the international organizations
that preceded us, was a struggle against a global system, which cannot
be separated into partial dominations.
The history of the labor movement is also a history of international
solidarity. Our organizations have stood alongside popular liberation
struggles in Latin America, Palestine, and Kurdistan. Anti-imperialism
is not an empty slogan: it is practical, committed, and consistent.
Conscious and Organized Degrowth
The ecological and economic collapse of capitalism will not be resolved
with more production or green growth. Only through planned and
collective degrowth, through the conscious reduction of the working day
and the equitable distribution of resources and labor, can we achieve
comprehensive emancipation. This change must be driven by union
organizations, as spaces for confrontation and dialogue about our real
needs, about what we produce and how we produce it.
Organization to Win
Now that we have overcome defeat and recognized ourselves, that we have
abandoned complacency and resumed the struggles of yesterday and today's
struggles for tomorrow, we must dust off the tools of our union,
political, and social struggles.
In a time of earthquakes beneath our feet, the organization of those who
can change everything is more necessary than ever. Our roots must leave
the soil of immediacy; they must grow like ivy and climb with the aim of
taking a broad view of this wall that is so difficult to scale.
Organization must grow armed with the most powerful tool: the strike.
During this cycle, in our territories, we must push to make conflicts
visible and practice revolutionary martial arts.
In the face of competition, solidarity; in the face of chaos, decline
and planning; in the face of exploitation, class organization.
Every May Day, we remember our history and reaffirm our struggle in the
present. We fight so that each May Day marks a breakthrough in our
awareness, in the development of our organization, and our strategy.
Dark times are coming, but it is in our hands, together with the
revolutionary unions, to begin to recover our capacity as a class.
May Day is a day to continue fighting: it is our memory, our present,
and our future. Against capitalism's offensive, let us continue to
foster organization, strikes, and revolution.
