We want to present a sample of the last 22 years of Tierra y Libertad's
life on paper, an anarchist publication founded in 1888, the oldest
publication of the libertarian press in Spanish and one of the oldest in
the world. We cover 22 years of its history, from 2000 to 2022, because
this is the period in which we, the Albatros Anarchist Group of the
Iberian Anarchist Federation (FAI) in Madrid, are in charge of
publishing it. These have been eventful years, both nationally and
globally (the most notable examples being the 15M and the pandemic), and
we have attempted to highlight them in this propaganda medium for
analysis. On occasion, we have used sister publications from other
countries, such as Umanià Nova, the Mexican Revolution, which, with the
cry of "Land and Liberty!" rose up against oppression, only to be
betrayed by a demagogic clique that has taken over the country at its
expense. In Spain, in 1977, with the libertarian reorganization
following Franco's death, the FAI groups decided to return to publishing
Tierra y Libertad monthly. The editorial staff has been edited by groups
in various cities: Barcelona, Madrid, Castellón, La Puebla del Río, and
so on.
