The 7th Libertarian Festival of Social, Class & Internationalist
Solidarity of the Anarchist Political Organization - Federation of
Collectives was held in Athens, at the Lampidona Park in Byronas, on
July 4, 5 and 6, 2025. The aim of the festival was "the creation of a
public and open political and cultural space for meeting, communication
and fermentation between the social and class struggles that develop
from below and the intervention of anarchist and libertarian projects
within them".
During the festival, political and cultural events took place, as well
as a wealth of printed political material, books, film publications,
posters, as well as an exhibition of sketches and a photography
exhibition for the struggling Palestine over a decades-long journey,
before the occupation of the Palestinian land by Israel until today,
when the Palestinian people are faced with the horror of genocide and
continue to resist with dignity.
The first event of the festival was the book presentation of "The Cotton
Pickers" by B. Traven by Eleftheriakes Ekdosies Nautilus, with the
participation of the translator.
The first day was followed by the event entitled: "From Tempe to Novi
Sad, state and capital murder. The intervention of anarchists in
student-social struggles", which opened with the introductory statement
of the Anarchist Political Organization. This was followed by the
statements of the Anarchist Student Initiative of Athens, the Anarchist
Student Assembly Quieta Movere from Thessaloniki and the members of the
Anarchist Collective "Class Solidarity" from Serbia, which highlighted
the struggles that broke out in Greece and Serbia against the mass state
crimes in Tempe and Novi Sad respectively, the contribution of
anarchists in these struggles, the libertarian characteristics that were
attempted to instill in the mobilizations, but also the importance of
the intervention of anarchists in student and social struggles, from the
student occupations in Serbia, the self-organization of students and
daily mobilizations to the occupations in Greece, such as that of the
rectorate of the National University of Athens in 2023 for 18 days by
libertarian, anarchist students, students and solidarity activists and
the mass strike mobilizations that took place in the period 2023 - 2025.
The first day of the festival concluded with a hip hop live performance
featuring: Kato api to geiso, Penthimos, Sile (on decks allow), Spira & KK.
The second day of the festival, Saturday, July 5, began with the event:
"State & capitalist restructurings and class struggles against state &
employer terrorism", in which the Eleftherian Initiative of Teachers
from Athens, an employee and member of the Workers' Union at
Teleperformance (SETEP), a dismissed member of Documento, participated.
The event opened with the position of the Anarchist Political
Organization, while an extensive reference was made to the anti-social
and anti-worker restructurings of the political and economic bosses, the
effects on the large social majority, the participation of anarchists in
the class and social resistances that are developing and their
interventions in labor struggles and mobilizations, the conditions that
prevail in labor camps in general but especially in the educational
sector with disciplinary measures, persecutions and potential holidays,
in the labor camps of Teleperformance and Documento, as well as the
collective struggles that workers are fighting through assemblies and
unions. Updates were given on the current state and bosses' attack, as
well as the current state of the struggle in the above areas, on the
workers' legal appeals and their trial in the immediate future, as well
as on the victories so far that have emerged through the organized and
collective struggle of the workers. Finally, regarding the
counter-educational restructurings, statements were made regarding the
resistance that erupted inside and outside schools by parents, teachers
and students against the onaseias, the efforts of reformist forces to
suppress them, as well as statements by students about the repression
within schools regarding the solidarity movements in Palestine, which
condemn the collaboration of university institutions with the Israeli
military industry.
The second day ended with a Live performance featuring: The Smoking
Hiccup Machine, Tiffany, Their Methlab, Rollin' Dice.
The third and final day of the festival, Sunday, July 6, began with the
event of the group against the patriarchy: "Trafficking - Cases of
"Amaryllis", Kolonos, Ilioupoli/ Greek Police Mafia/ SLAPP Lawsuits/
Cover-up/ State repression", in which Annie Paparrousou (lawyer) and
Loukas Stamellos (journalist Omnia Tv) participated. At the beginning of
the event, there was an intervention by the group against patriarchy
with the reading of a position on Palestine and gender-based violence in
wartime conditions and against the ongoing genocide of the Palestinian
people by the state of Israel. Then, the axes were developed regarding
the trafficking cases of "Amaryllis", Kolonos, Ilioupoli, their
connection with the Greek Police Mafia case, their institutional
cover-up, but also the repression in various forms that activists who
are on the street resisting, independent journalists who bring to light
what the power system and its lackeys want to hide and silence, and
militants lawyers, who defend the law and despite threats stand
selflessly on the side of those who struggle, on the side of the
oppressed and exploited. The event closed with the reading of 3 letters,
from the 12-year-old from Kolonos, her brother and her mother, while
there was information about the start of the appeals court of the case
in early 2026.
The 7th Eleftheriako Festival continued with the theatrical performance
"Fragments of Murders" by Aris Tsioumas and concluded with a traditional
feast with the participation of: Stefanos Filos (violin), Nikolas
Filipposoglou (oud), Panagiotis Heliotis (lute), Giorgos Anagnostopoulos
(percussion).
At this point, we would like to thank the artists who participated in
the cultural events of the festival, those comrades and fellow activists
participated in the political events and book launches, the comrades
from Serbia, as well as the employee and member of the Teleperformance
Workers' Union (SETEP), the dismissed Documento, the Educators'
Emancipation Initiative, the Anarchist Students' Initiative of Athens,
the Anarchist Student Assembly Quieta Movere, Loukas Stamellos, Annie
Paparrousou, the 12-year-old and her family, the social cultural center
of Lampedona, but also those who helped with their contribution to the
realization of the 7th Emancipation Festival of Social, Class and
Internationalist Solidarity.
We believe that the successful realization of the 7th Emancipation
Festival, for another year in a condition of intensifying the attack of
the state and capital on every social field, targeting of the anarchist
movement, its structures and its fighters through the ongoing and
ongoing counter-insurgency repressive campaign of the state, was an
opportunity for us to discuss, exchange views and our collective
experiences through the social and class struggles that are developing
against state and capitalist barbarity. Finally, the realization of this
year's festival confirmed once again the necessity of existence and the
essential importance of an anarchist festival, especially in a period
where the central repressive policy of the state is being upgraded, with
the genocide in Palestine in progress, the imperialist wars raging and
the conditions of exploitation, oppression and exclusion intensifying,
in order to achieve the broader socialization and propaganda of the
anarchist revolutionary projects and values of self-organization,
solidarity, equality, the struggle for social revolution!
The only real dilemma of our time is:
State and capitalist barbarity or Social Revolution
