WORLD WORLDWIDE EUROPE ITALY - news journal UPDATE - (en) Italy, FAI, Umanita Nova #22-25 - Against wars, for our freedom (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

In just a few days, Domodossola has seen diverse yet united voices take
to the streets in protest against war and oppression. First with the
"Stop Rearmament" initiative, organized on Refugee Day, to remind people
that every weapon produced, sold, and used only generates new escapes,
new deaths, new injustices; then with the demonstration by the Ossola
Committee for Gaza, which reiterated its commitment to continue the
mobilization "until the genocide is stopped." In these squares, the same
message resounds: there are no just wars, there are no innocent states.
This is where my reflection begins. As I write, bombs are raining down
on the world. Gaza, Kiev, Tehran, Tel Aviv: different governments, the
same contempt for those who live under their banners. Every war exposes
the farce of international treaties, the Hague tribunals, the Geneva
Conventions: words on paper, torn up by the powerful when they are no
longer useful.

States are governed by obedience: kings, popes, parliaments, or
ayatollahs, their authority exists only because we continue to submit.
Tradition creates subjects; fear maintains them. The state is nothing
more than the sum of roles, expectations, and customs that force us to
serve plans contrary to our interests, using myths of legitimacy and
threats of violence to keep us in our place.

Democracy boasts of being the government of every human being, but it
liberates no individual: the minority remains subjugated, the majority
caged by the same rules. And when a pretext is needed, every state
invokes "national sovereignty" to defend itself, or violates it with
wars and invasions when convenient. Always with the same lie: using the
population as a shield to perpetuate itself.

Meanwhile, those who really die are civilians, women, and children.
Those who don't die flee. And those who govern tell fairy tales:
exporting democracy, defending the homeland, saving the chosen people.
But Israel practices apartheid and genocide, Iran hangs and terrorizes
in the name of its god, the US and Europe sow colonialism through drones
and military bases everywhere, Russia massacres and tortures, invoking
NATO as a bogeyman.

The autonomy of the individual is incompatible with the authority of the
state. The only truth is that every state, theocratic, democratic, or
autocratic, thrives on the domination of the few over the many. It's not
a question of "culture" or "civilization." It's a question of power. As
long as there are states, there will be armies, borders, refugees,
political prisoners, secret torture chambers, and mass graves. If the
hallmark of the state is authority, that is, the right to dominate, the
primary obligation of a human being is freedom, that is, the refusal to
be dominated. There is no compromise between these two paths. Indeed, as
long as a human being fulfills the obligation to be the author of his
own decisions, he will resist the state's claim to authority over him.
We can choose: either remain free, judging every order before deciding
whether to obey it or not, or renounce our dignity by submitting to any
government, whether democratic or dictatorial. There is no moral
obligation to obey authority, be it state, religion, market, or
otherwise. Every free person is, ultimately, a stateless person.
Therefore, anarchy is the only doctrine consistent with freedom and
peace among peoples. It does not mean chaos, but direct solidarity among
equals, self-management of communities, a free federation without
masters or priests. No state can ever build peace: peace is built by
demolishing thrones and armchairs. This is why there is no neutrality:
either with the people or with governments, or with the oppressed or the
oppressors. Either anarchy, or perpetual death and destruction.
