The ongoing conflict in the East, which acts as a true doctrine of
shock, threatened to expand uncontrollably and escalate throughout theregion with more actors, and even with serious risks of
internationalization, due to the bombing of three nuclear facilities in
Iran by the United States. The latest developments, changing completely
day after day, and almost hour after hour, ratified a permanent and
sustained ceasefire, which is uncertain due to the fragility of the
facts. One of the clear objectives of Israeli Zionism was to completely
overshadow the ongoing Palestinian genocide and continue murdering
Gazans. Imperialist geopolitics is a weapon completely contrary to any
morality, as is the capitalist system that fuels and originates it, and
this is a cruel reality for our class interests, but it is undoubtedly
the point of analysis from which we must begin to combat it. In the face
of their wars, our revolutionary organization and a peaceful solution as
an anti-imperialist strategy.

History of this conflict in the East and its imperialist implications.
Contemporary hostilities in the Middle East have been a continuing
reality since the last century due to imperialist interference, as it is
a region of high strategic value for consolidating global domination and
a territory for waging indirect conflicts between powers. The
Zionist-Iranian rivalry dates back to the 1980s, when, following the
triumph of Ayatollah Khomeini's Islamic Revolution in 1979, the new
Islamic Republic of Iran was founded, deposing the Shah of Persia, until
then an ally of Israel and the United States. This political shift in
the region represents a complete change in relations, as the regime of
the Ayalotas was led by conservative Shia clerics who imposed a
theocratic and authoritarian government in Iran to this day. An Iranian
foreign policy against Israeli Zionism was initiated, breaking all
previous agreements established with the Shah of Iran's regime and now
also finding the United States as an enemy.
However, US imperialism has always played a destabilizing role in the
Middle East, either directly or through its ally Israel. The US, under
the Ronald Reagan administration, even sold arms to its new enemy, Iran,
in that country's war against Iraq, governed by Saddam Hussein's Arab
nationalism in the 1980s, and with the sale of these arms, it financed
the Nicaraguan counterinsurgency. Iran began to support and finance
various Islamic resistance movements against the Zionist state of
Israel, initially the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO), Hezbollah
in southern Lebanon, and even the Syrian regime of Bashar al-Assad. In
fact, Iran had been supporting the Syrian government in the civil war
since 2012, sending equipment and paramilitary forces against the Syrian
rebels and establishing arms and training corridors for Hezbollah forces
across the Syrian border. However, this situation changed dramatically
when the Assad regime fell in December 2024, with the current phase of
the genocide against Palestine underway since October 2023.
Zionist aggression to overshadow the genocide in Gaza.
The current conflict following Israel's aggression against Iran on June
13 has its most immediate antecedents in the Israeli attacks in April
2024, when its air force bombed a building adjacent to the Iranian
embassy in Damascus, killing 14 people. In response, Israel launched a
coordinated deployment of ballistic missiles and drones from Iran,
Lebanon, and Yemen. Israel then decided to bomb some military positions
in Tehran, some radars, and areas near its international airport. In the
summer of 2024, Israel attacked Beirut, first assassinating a senior
Hezbollah official and then carrying out an attack prepared for years,
detonating the personal pagers of hundreds of Hezbollah militants. This
culminated in the ground invasion of southern Lebanon in October 2024.
Iran responded by sending 180 ballistic missiles to Israel and by Israel
with three waves of bombings on Tehran less than a month later,
resulting in a stalemate at that point.
The Zionist justification for their attack, and for the subsequent US
support and aggression, is Iran's failure to comply with nuclear
nonproliferation measures and its nuclear program aimed at enriching
uranium for nuclear warheads. Israel has been secretly developing
nuclear weapons at the Negev Nuclear Research Center since 1958. A
decade later, the US claimed that Israel possessed nuclear weapons.
Although it remains silent on the matter, it is estimated that it has
stored between 75 and 400 nuclear warheads, also disregarding the
"Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty," which it has never ratified.
The current conflict is between a theocratic and conservative government
like Iran's, which plays the role of wanting to be a regional power in
the territory, versus an ultranationalist and genocidal Zionist movement
that is working to destabilize US imperialism in the region. That past
June 13th, coordinated Israeli attacks with fighter jets and drones from
inside Iran, knocking out its radars and defenses, resulted in
approximately 70 deaths, including the assassination of senior Iranian
military officials and nuclear scientists. Until now, there had been a
daily exchange of attacks and waves of bombings with ballistic missiles
and drones targeting various mutual military targets, television
stations, government buildings, and even civilian areas. This has left a
death toll of 430 on Iranian soil and 24 in the territory occupied by
Zionists. However, although Donald Trump had said he would wait two
weeks to give diplomacy a chance, he was already preparing and had
decided to attack Iran, entering the conflict fully.
The criminal US attack on Iranian nuclear facilities.
On June 22, several aircraft, including B-2 bombers, launched an attack
with bunker-busting bombs (GBU-57), which penetrate deeply underground
due to their weight of more than 13 tons. Several submarines also
completed the attack with Tomahawk missiles, hitting the nuclear
facilities in Natanz, Isfahan, and Fordow, the latter located
underground under a mountain. This pre-planned attack has been strongly
condemned by Russia and China, and the Arab world has also spoken out
against it, as has a majority of countries in Latin America and Africa.
We do not ignore the fact that we are facing two implacable regimes: the
Israeli state, decisively genocidal, and the Iranian state, defending
itself against a brutal aggression from the imperialist axis. The US
attack, along with Israel's aggression, seeks to overthrow the current
Islamic political regime in Iran and establish a NATO-allied puppet
government. To this end, the son of the former Persian Shah is already
emerging as the main internal opponent. Furthermore, the triumphalist
rhetoric from both sides only fuels a warlike mentality among the
world's peoples and isolates a class narrative. As anarchists, we
position ourselves on a clear third way without resorting to
equidistance, hoping that the opposition in this conflict will be a
popular organization that is class-conscious and anti-imperialist in
every sense. A portion of the Jewish people repudiates Zionism and must
emerge as a key political actor to combat that ideology and its actions.
While popular opposition also exists in Iran, as evidenced in 2022 by
the mobilizations following the murder of the young Mahsa Amini by the
Iranian morality police for not wearing the hijab correctly.
In the face of their wars, a revolutionary class organization.
The drumbeats of war drummed by leaders like Trump, or by Europe itself,
maintaining its stance of defending the Zionist state of Israel in the
face of its discursive blackmail, only prepare the ground for a
large-scale open conflict that, if not happening now, imperialism is
making clear will eventually happen. Israel not only intended to attack
Iran's weapons capacity but also to destabilize the government of the
ayatollahs, knowing that Netanyahu's government is also increasingly
under scrutiny both internally and internationally. Since Israel saw
that it couldn't do it alone, the United States had to act, striking a
blow and bringing the world to the brink of the abyss. However, we
cannot focus our criticism solely on Trump and Netanyahu as two
psychopathic managers of neoliberalism, because we would be ignoring the
root of the problem: Zionism and US imperialism as underlying ideologies
to combat.
Until now, Iran had been left in a position where the decision on a
delicate self-defense response could be taken by imperialism as a new
justification for a savage attack. Initially, the blockade of the Strait
of Hormuz, through which 20 million barrels of crude oil pass daily,
seemed to be approved. This would have a global economic and energy
impact, although it would also have a significant impact on Iran itself.
However, Iran ended up attacking one of the main US bases in the East,
specifically in Doha, the capital of Qatar. This missile attack, even
previously announced, appears to have been the public and symbolic
response to the criminal US attack condemned by half the world. The
latest news confirms a permanent ceasefire agreement, raising the
temperature of imperialist geostrategy to continue weaving tactics to
defend its interests and force its people to surrender without
palliatives. However, as stated, the situation changes every day, and
new chapters are generated in this tale of the shock doctrine and the
construction of a widespread sense of warmongering.
This game of conflicting criminal strategies by these actors in a region
that is a powder keg, and in which Russia and China have so far not
intervened directly, creates a complex situation with the US attacks. We
must continue to highlight the genocide in Gaza, where more than 500
Palestinians have been massacred at food distribution points in recent
weeks, and, above all, denounce this imperialist aggression against
Iran. The revolutionaries of the world must prepare for cruelly
unpleasant scenarios, to maintain firm ideological and strategic
positions for the end of domination and oppression. In the face of the
abyss of war, our commitment to peace among peoples and our class
organization remain.
