WORLD WORLDWIDE SOUTH AMERICA BRAZIL BRASIL - news journal UPDATE - (en) Brazil, Capixaba, FACA: Capitalism and the Foretold Ecological Collapse (ca, de, it, pt, tr)[machine translation]

The alarming data released this year by the World Meteorological

Organization-overheating seas, 1.4 million people displaced by extreme
weather events in the Pacific, 10% of the oceans suffocated by heat
waves-are not mere natural accidents. They are the tangible result, the
terminal symptom, of a death machine called capitalism. This system,
founded on the infinite accumulation of profit, is intrinsically
predatory. It transforms everything-forests, oceans, the atmosphere
itself-into a commodity to be exploited until exhaustion. The logic of
perpetual growth, indispensable to capital, is biologically impossible
on a finite planet. Uncontrolled emissions, insane resource extraction,
and rampant industrial pollution are not flaws of the system, but its
essential modus operandi. Record sea temperatures are the thermometer
calibrated by corporate greed.

The tragedy in the Pacific, with millions forced from their lands by
intensifying cyclones and rising seas, exposes the brutal face of the
environmental colonialism inherent in globalized capitalism. Island
nations and coastal communities, which have historically contributed the
least to carbon emissions, are the first and most violently hit.
Meanwhile, fossil fuel megacorporations and industrialized states, the
primary culprits of climate chaos, continue to profit obscenely and
finance new exploitations. The system protects its agents and transfers
the human and ecological cost to the most vulnerable, the "disposable"
of the Global South. Mass displacement is not a side effect; it is the
planned externalization of the cost of capitalist accumulation.

The dangerous illusion of "green capitalism" or "sustainable
development" is just another cog in the machine of destruction. These
are false market solutions-carbon credits, monopoly-controlled "clean"
energy, and miraculous technologies-that serve to keep the structures of
power and accumulation intact. They don't question the fundamental need
for endless expansion and unbridled consumption; they simply try to
greenwash the same unsustainable model, creating new sources of profit
while the planet continues to burn. The cyclones ravaging Southwest Asia
won't be contained by solar panels sold by megacorporations. This is a
smokescreen to perpetuate control and postpone necessary radical action.

Faced with this reality, it is insane to believe that reforms within the
capitalist system can halt the catastrophe. Meaningful climate action
requires the immediate dismantling of the fossil fuel industry, an end
to unnecessary commodity production, a profound redistribution of
wealth, and a radical reorganization of life around community and
ecological needs, not profit. Capitalism, by its very nature, is
incapable of achieving this. It understands only the language of growth
and exploitation. Therefore, the true ecological struggle is,
inevitably, a revolutionary anti-capitalist struggle. Defending the
Earth means attacking the roots of the power that destroys it: the State
that protects it and the capital that devours it.

The only hope lies in direct action, in the autonomous organization of
communities, in mass disobedience, and in the construction of horizontal
and libertarian alternatives now. We must sabotage the machines of
destruction-from gas pipelines to mining companies-and create zones of
resistance and autonomy where life, not profit, is the supreme value.

The destruction of capitalism is not a vengeful desire; it is an
absolute ecological necessity, the prerequisite for any chance of
collective survival on this planet. The 1.4 million displaced people in
the Pacific are today's victims. If we do not destroy the machine that
crushes them, we will all be tomorrow's victims. The Earth does not
negotiate; it rebels. Either we rebel with it, abolishing capitalism, or
we perish with it.
