Dear friends,

The streets of New York City are incredibly dangerous for vulnerable newborn kittens. Of those born to unsterilized stray cats, as few as 1 in 4 survive their first six months.

The cats that live go on to have kittens of their own, repeating the tragic cycle – unless they are sterilized by organizations like our partner, Bideawee.

Up to 75% of kittens born on New York City’s streets die before they reach six months old.

A single unsterilized female stray cat gives birth to an average of six kittens every year, and up to 75% of these kittens won't survive their first year due to the numerous dangers of living on the streets. This means that for every 12 kittens born to a stray cat, nine are likely to die young.

The most effective way to prevent more kittens from being born into harsh lives is to implement trap-neuter-return (TNR) programs. Together with our partner – and with support from animal-lovers like you – that’s exactly what we’ll do.

You can help prevent kittens from being born into suffering in New York.

No-one knows for certain how many street cats live in New York City, but some estimate that there could be hundreds of thousands. For these animals, organizations like our partner are a vital lifeline.

Last year, Bideawee helped to sterilize, trap, transport, neuter and return more than 2,000 New York street cats, humanely controlling the feral population and preventing countless unwanted animals from being born into suffering.

Our partner provides free services, support and resources for the 10,000+ community cat caretakers who feed, sterilize and care for the cats who are struggling today. They also host workshops to show people how to care for and protect street cats, making New York a more compassionate city for these vulnerable animals.

Our partner relies on donations to continue making a difference for the stray cats and kittens of New York City.

The more you give, the more cats we can help.

Sterilization, vaccinations, emergency veterinary care, transportation, food – it all adds up. And while our partner is dedicated to reaching as many stray cats as possible, the size of their impact is completely dependent on the amount of support they receive.

Here’s how your support can help NYC’s street cats:

  • $15 feeds a stray cat for a week
  • $30 helps provide emergency vet care for a sick or injured cat
  • $60 covers sterilization, vaccination and parasite treatment for one homeless cat
  • $100+ keeps a community colony safe, fed and healthy

These cats didn’t choose a life on the streets. But with your support, we can give them the care they need – and stop the suffering before it starts.

Please, donate today and help us give stray cats in New York City the care they deserve, while preventing more kittens from being born into perilous lives on the streets.

For the animals,

P.S. With your support, we can and will prevent kittens being born and probably dying on New York City’s streets. Please donate as generously as you can right now.
