| Blindlove’s Equines Deserve a Second Chance - We need you!Dear friends,
At Blindlove in South Africa, miracles happen every day thanks to people like you. Just a few months ago, dear Wollie, a donkey with 40 years of scars from suffering, flinched in fear at every human step. Today, he pricks his ears when Philippa calls and ambles over for his strawberry jam sandwiches and soft Lucerne chaff. The transformation is slow but real—because for the first time in his life, kindness outweighs cruelty. It’s your compassion that makes this possible. OuBaas, once fragile, is now thriving with his pony and horse companions, and soon he will meet the donkey herd to see if he can finally find the family he deserves. Philippa is cautiously hopeful, watching every interaction to ensure safety and peace. These are delicate steps forward, but they mark a life reclaimed from loneliness.

| | | | Atticus: The Warrior in Pain |
|
| Then there is Atticus, the old warrior horse. He recently developed a painful aural haematoma in his ear, a condition requiring repeated draining and possibly surgery. Despite stitches and sedation, the swelling has returned, leaving him sore and vulnerable. Philippa does everything she can to ease his suffering, but the vet bills keep climbing. On top of this, the sanctuary faces recurring costs for feed and deworming treatments that simply cannot wait. Each bag of feed costs R7,500 and only lasts a couple of weeks; hay bales are R100 each, with up to four needed every single day. |
|
| | | | | | Blindlove is not just a sanctuary—it is the last refuge for animals who have endured lives of brutality, fear, and neglect. OuBaas, Wollie, Atticus, and over 30 other equines rely on Philippa’s care to survive. Without help, there is no feed, no treatment, no comfort. Every day is a struggle to balance love with the harsh reality of empty feed bins and unpaid vet bills. Without your help, there is no feed, no treatment, no comfort.
Your generosity has already allowed Philippa to buy feed, cover vet bills, and give animals like Wollie a second chance. But the need is greater than ever. Without urgent donations, Atticus’s treatment may be delayed, and hay supplies will run out in just days. |
|
| | | | | | Animals First Aid, in partnership with Blindlove, is asking for your urgent support today. A gift of $50 (about R900) helps cover one day of hay. $150 provides Atticus with vital veterinary care. $400 keeps the herd fed for an entire week. Every donation, no matter the size, is a lifeline for these gentle souls. Please will you give now to Blindlove’s horses and donkeys?
They have endured decades of hardship. You can be the reason they live out their days with dignity, safety, and love.
Please, give now to Blindlove’s horses and donkeys. Together, we can make sure that OuBaas, Wollie, Atticus, and so many others continue to know the healing power of compassion. |
