Another world is possible. There is a world of solidarity, freedom, and
self-government, of collective responsibility and caring for oneanother. We know this because we see this world erupt again and again in
our struggles, because it shines through every time cracks appear in the
system. The system is the wars of the rulers, the money worries at the
end of the month, the patriarchal violence, the pressure to perform in
schools, and the police baton that silences those who resist. The cracks
are us.
And even if our spaces are cleared and our actions criminalized, if we
are beaten, imprisoned, laughed at, and pacified, if movements come to a
standstill and times become harder: our struggles are not in vain. For
every time we join forces, organize, and make plans together against a
system of violence, we tear the system apart a little further. Our
dreams of a different world become experiences in our struggles. We
share them with comrades across centuries and continents, and whatever
may come, our experiences remain. We know that our radical projects
don't need bosses and hierarchies; we have not only invoked solidarity
but also experienced it; we have learned to organize and be there for
one another.
None of this was ever perfect, but all of it remains.
The struggle continues!
