The first concrete action of civil society from half the world to put an
end to the war in Gaza, to famine and to the genocide of the Palestinian
people represented by the Global Sumud Flotilla reached its tragic
conclusion last night. ---- Deprived of any protection, with an Italian
military ship cowardly standing aside despite the activists having
already been threatened and bombed in international waters or those of
other States, the participants of the Global Sumud Flotilla who were
trying to open a humanitarian corridor in the sea off Gaza
(international waters that the Israeli government, with the consent of,
among others, the Italian government, has appropriated) suffered a
criminal attack by Israeli special forces, who kidnapped them and put an
end to their generous and nonviolent mission.
In this context, there was also prior coordination between the Zionist
Prime Minister Netanyahu an acknowledged war criminal wanted by the
International Criminal Court and the Italian nationalist Prime Minister
Giorgia Meloni, as is customary between States that consider themselves
allied. (Netanyahu went to the UN in recent days to deliver a rambling
speech with Italy's blessing Italy being the only country in Europe to
approve the overflight of Sicilian airspace.)
Our struggle against the Israeli government must therefore extend to its
closest accomplices: the Italian government and its military, commercial
and diplomatic agencies, which continue to do business and cultivate
friendly relations with the rogue State of Israel.
Let us not limit ourselves to boycotting goods, stopping the shipment of
weapons to Israel, or protesting in front of embassies, consulates and
industries colluding with the Zionist State. We must extend our protest
to Italian institutions to parties, to newspapers entwined with the
Meloni government which spread hate and export to the world the
neo-fascist, imperialist and racist ideology that also shapes their
Israeli counterparts.
Let us continue the struggle against the Israeli government both here
and across the sea and join it with the fight against Italian
neo-fascism, which materially and ideologically supports Israel.
