Her name is Jelena Kostić, and through years of struggle, heartbreak, and relentless dedication, she has created a small sanctuary that has become a last refuge for more than 90 dogs, 20 cats, 7 sheep, 2 pigs, and 2 goats — all rescued from abuse, neglect, or starvation. Her food supplies are gone, vet bills have piled up, and she is fighting to keep everyone fed and safe. Animals First Aid has already stepped in, sending €300 from our reserve fund to cover urgent vaccines and food, but this is only a temporary relief. Jelena owes money to the vet, is struggling to buy puppy milk, and cannot turn away the new arrivals that appear daily at her gate.
