🎄 Salut à Toots et Joyeux Noël ! Le club sera fermé ce soir et demain, mais de retour vendredi pour deux soirées de feu de pré-Nouvel An en compagnie de Mr T & the Skydivers ! Du groove, de la soul, du funk : Bilou Doneux et son équipe sont prêts à vous secouer. Jam après le concert avec Manolo Cabras le vendredi et Simon Groppe le samedi. Dimanche, pour se remettre en douceur, Jean-Paul Estievenart sera sur scène pour rendre hommage à l’immense — et trop rarement cité — Art Farmer. On débranche la perfusion algorithmique. On arrête de participer à l’enrichissement de plateformes qui se foutent royalement — et ouvertement — des musicien·ne·s, en transformant la création en simple bruit de fond d’open space et en pur produit de consommation. Les géants du streaming ont déjà mangé assez de royalties pour dix vies ; nous, on préfère nourrir les artistes qui jouent devant nous pour de vrai. Alors, quand il n’y a personne sur scène, on revient au CD, cet objet magique, rond, brillant, robuste, qui ne demande ni abonnement, ni mot de passe, ni validation par un dieu-robot. Le futur est cassé ? On revient en arrière. Le 6 janvier, une boîte apparaîtra au club, dans laquelle vous pourrez : • mettre un peu de sous pour acheter des CD d’artistes vivants (qui en ont bien besoin) ; • ou offrir des CD d’artistes morts, que nous écouterons sans enrichir un CEO qui investit dans des drones de combat. We trekken de stekker uit de algoritmische infusen. We weigeren nog langer bij te dragen aan platforms die zich openlijk — en trots — niets aantrekken van muzikanten, en creatieve muziek reduceren tot achtergrondgeluid voor kantoorruimtes en wegwerpproducten. De streaminggiganten hebben al genoeg royalties opgeslokt voor tien levens; wij steunen liever de artiesten die echt voor ons spelen. Dus wanneer er niemand op het podium staat, gaan we terug naar de cd — dat magische, ronde, glanzende, stevige object dat geen abonnement, wachtwoord of toestemming van een robotgod nodig heeft. Is de toekomst kapot? Dan gaan we gewoon terug. Op 6 januari verschijnt er in de club een doos waarin je kunt: • wat geld stoppen om cd’s van levende artiesten te kopen (die kunnen het echt gebruiken); • of cd’s schenken van overleden artiesten, die we draaien zonder een CEO te verrijken die investeert in gevechtsdrones. On Sunday, to ease back into things, Jean-Paul Estiévenart takes the stage for a tribute to the great — and far too rarely mentioned — Art Farmer. We’re unplugging the algorithmic life-support machine. We refuse to keep enriching platforms that openly — and proudly — don’t care about musicians, turning creation into open-space background noise and pure throwaway consumer product. The streaming giants have eaten enough royalties for ten lifetimes; we’d rather support the artists who play in front of us for real. So when no one is on stage, we’re going back to the CD — that magical, round, shiny, sturdy object that requires no subscription, no password, no approval from a robot-god. The future is broken? Fine. We’re going backwards. On January 6, a box will appear in the club where you can: • drop a few coins to buy CDs from living artists (who genuinely need it); • or donate CDs by dead artists, which we’ll play without enriching some CEO investing in combat drones.
