| Will you help us keep rescued animals healing and alive?
Dear friends, For years, Paws of Smederevo in Serbia has been a place where the unwanted are not turned away. Dogs left on roadsides, injured, paralyzed, or forgotten are given shelter, food, and dignity by a small team that refuses to give up on them, no matter how hard it gets.
|
|
| | Animals First Aid has stood beside Paws of Smederevo through some of their hardest moments, and because of your support, real care has reached real animals. Recently, $769 was sent to the shelter, and every dollar went directly where it was needed most: safe housing for the dogs, daily food, urgent veterinary care, and another crucial payment toward Nada’s wheelchair, which gives her the chance to move, heal, and live with joy again . |

| Nada’s story is one that stays with you. Despite paralysis, pain, and ongoing therapy, her spirit remains unbroken. She continues physical rehabilitation several times a week, supported by electro, magnetic, ultrasound, and laser therapies. These treatments are not optional. They are what stand between progress and regression. Without them, her future mobility and independence are at risk. Fuel costs, therapy fees, and veterinary visits are stretching the shelter to its limits, and donations have slowed just when consistency matters most.
Then there is Vila. After consultations with multiple specialists across Serbia and even Vienna, the decision was made not to risk devastating surgeries that could take away her ability to walk and play. |

| For now, she lives a functional life, but only with frequent veterinary monitoring, protective treatments, and careful management of her injured leg. Every check-up, every bandage, every appointment every few days comes at a cost that quietly adds up. Beyond these individual cases are dozens of dogs who need food every single day and shelter that keeps them warm, dry, and safe. Housing costs alone consume a large portion of the monthly budget, yet without it, these dogs would have nowhere to go. There is no large institution behind this work, only dedication, experience, and a deep sense of responsibility toward animals who have already suffered too much. |
